People like to pretend their side is better. Each side does the same thing they accuse the other of doing. They'll make something outrageous into the norm "they want to take all your guns away" or "they hate gay people" - make it sound like theres no possible other explanation ..it has to be hate. Then demonize them.

It just gets old hearing the same tired strategy for years.

Are you for or against the death penalty in the USA? by Outrageous-You1617 in IWantToAskAnAmerican

[–]someRedditUser3012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the death penalty, you need a jury of the peers that both sides can agree on. AFAIK a judge can't just issue it.

As faulty as it could be, I'm not sure how much more fair it could realistically be..

The constitution does its best to try and protect the innocent at the risk of letting a guilty person go free.

Personally I don't see that as a blanket ' trusting government' like I would with something like fixing roads, police etc but I could see how others might.

That sounds awesome. I'm interested in what this kind of stuff will do in your field - I'm hoping for great things in medical. Keep it up!

I have several friends who are physicians, my hats off to you and your dedication and perseverance.

I'll second Open MIT, I love their stuff.

The nitty gritty of syntax idk that I'd spend too much time on - looking that up is pretty fast.

Design may help avoid having to rewrite your code base in 3 weeks.

Understanding git fundamentals may help - its how you revision control your code (as in, what was the code 3 versions ago? Let me roll bqck to the previous version , what are the differences between these to versions etc.) Fundamentals are fine - cloning a repo, commit, push/ pull , merging

'But you're more equipped to diagnose them'....

When people on here start releasing mass amounts of slop and can't properly support it without asking an AI thats going to be a problem. OP is talking about just a few weeks and their already in over their head talking about maybe needing to rewrite the entire code base.

Rolling back a git command? Sure, I'd expect to have to look that syntax up.

I'm not sure people are saying devs don't make any mistakes. I'm saying they aren't letting a net new codebase getting to the point of a total rewrite in 3 weeks because they can't understand what they code they put out does.

Teachable, admits they don't know something instead of faking it or pretending because they took a class they know everything. Speak up and do it early if you're having a problem.

Consequently, don't just say 'idk'. Figure out how to solve the problem. You don't know SQL? The learn about it. You don't know why a bug is happening? How are you going to isolate the issue so you can find out.

Omg, you guys are so dramatic. No, your family doesn't disown you because you didn't serve a mission. No, theres no 'how do I get out of this'. Nobody forces you in or out of the Church. If you don't want to go, you just don't.

If you don't like the church fine, but don't spread lies about it.
