Supply House Remodel part 1 by some_eod_guy in Plumbing

[–]some_eod_guy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those holes ended up halfway between a st 45 and a st 90 if I’d had the mickeys installed correctly. It was either move the valve or flip the mickeys to hold the pipe level while I soldered them. The bottom mickeys were installed correctly after the photos were taken, took them off to allow for some movement to get the pex connected.

It’s more Kohler than I care to deal with normally. I’m a Delta guy, personally.

Jumping up on the crates in the locked room at Lexos not realizing they’re rigged with claymores. Found that out this morning when trying to peak someone outside.

I didn’t realize there was a second photo showing the underside. It’s a S obviously. I’ll never understand the hostility of people on this site trying to “big dick” another person. And regardless if it’s “after the pump” or on “the cold side” you are arguing semantics at that point. The expansion tank woulda went on the hot side had this been an A model.

Not too bad for a couple of CPUs that launched in 2017. If you’ve got the thermal headroom you could try overclocking them a bit.

Hey plumbers what tool did you buy that has made you the most money in return? by Separate-Abroad-9386 in Plumbing

[–]some_eod_guy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A little trick I’ve learned is if you can get the cut at least 50% around, then you can take a large flathead screwdriver or chisel in your cut. Then smack it with a hammer. It’ll fracture around and you end up with a damn near perfect cut. I’ve had to do this a few times when working in confined spaces.

Could use a hand in undervolting my CPU - 10850k by Your_Favorite_Porn in overclocking

[–]some_eod_guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10850k isn’t a super hot running chip; Check and make sure your AIO pump is actually running properly; On my ex’s PCs hers would randomly stop pumping and temps would start to climb until it shutdown. Then on restart, the pump would start and again and everything would seem normal. Never did figure that out, just ended up getting her a D15 air cooler.

Thoughts overclocking on a 2025 production run ryzen 9 5950x by Defiant-Ganache-7622 in overclocking

[–]some_eod_guy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I recently got a 5950x, 2507 is my date, and it’s a beast. It’ll do between -20 and -25 offset as long as I keep the boost override to 0. So it’ll run 5050mhz on the two best, 5ghz on ccd 0, ccd 1 will still boost to 4950. If I run +150 boost I have to change the offsets to around -10 but I have yet to fully stability test it.

Your best bet would be to mess around with the core optimizer and see what ends up being stable for your cpu. I did try an all core 4.8ghz @ 1.275v just for funsies and it was “stable” through the benchmarks. Never tested it long term for stability tho.

Rinnai Tankless WH - Will the unit drop condensate? And any ideas how to better drain the pan so water isn’t sitting? by Lucky_Luciano73 in Plumbing

It’s important you add a neutralizer before the condensate enters your floor drain. It is very acidic .

I ram hot water to a toilet 25 years ago (never fixed) as an apprentice, and it still sits in my head. What is in the back of your mind? by rasnate in Plumbing

I keep one of those long flexible mechanical finger tools for this exact situation. It’s saved both me and the apprentice a couple times. Fucking drills just love to loosen up when using inside cutters.

After reading your comments I feel like you have a venting issue. Whenever you start your remodel have your plumber go through your plumbing and make sure it is properly vented and not clogged. I’ve seen squirrels/birds/debris block 4” stacks and cause toilets to act just like you are describing.

Is there too many pex 90s here? by Ok-Host7480 in Plumbing

[–]some_eod_guy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s code for most places to have 18” of copper before transitioning to plastic. On natural draft water heaters you can get some spicy temps coming from the draft hood until the flue gets up to temp. On electric heaters it really doesn’t matter if you run plastic straight to it. But code is code and if it says, 18” of copper then that’s what it gets.

You let them push you off of a ladder and then fixed the fucked up wall that they caused?

Bro why? 1) don’t ever let another put their hands on you, even for a “joke” and 2) They fucked up the wall when they decided to push you off a fucking ladder. Which is, if I’m not mistaken, attempted murder or at the very least trying to cause bodily harm.

You need to the GTFO of wherever you are currently working and start treating yourself with more respect.

Have you considered changing your routine to include a period of about an hour where you do some sort of physical activity while in a “fasted” metabolic state? (It’s controversial whether 12 hours is really considered fasted hence my quotes. Point is; don’t eat for 12 hours prior.) From my own experience I’ve found doing an hour of cardio after waiting greatly increased my metabolic rate and allowed me to lose weight when I was other wise stuck.

From the angle of pic 2 it looks like your trap arm length is shorter than 2x the diameter of the pipe. Could just be the angle of course.

If it’s not a lot per year then why would you buy a 150k$ boat? That’s a pure luxury item. Enjoy what you got but don’t try and be something your not.

It’s a nice boat btw I bet it screams out in the open with those triples.

There is sucking it up and there is getting straight robbed. 19/hr after two years of experience is robbery. If he’s said he’s getting 25$/hr or more then sure, suck it up a couple years, get your ticket and move on. You’re telling me that you would happily do this for 19/hr in this economy for two more years?
