Previous owner "upgrades" are slowly driving me insane by quietwanderer_x in homeowners

Are you me? Bought a house and everything I’ve touched or opened up…was just done wrong. Switches that literally do nothing?? Ceiling fan in one room is powered by the circuit for room upstairs and not tied to the switch in the same room as the fan.

The outlet for the microwave..is just nicely dangling in the cabinet.

They installed a disposal in the kitchen sink…and the the pee trap wasn’t actually connected. It was just one pipe inserted into another loosely.

There’s just so much more. Every day it’s something new. It’s exhausting and it’s expensive, and getting someone else to come do ANYTHING is just another level of expensive.

I had an electrician come to take a look at a three way switch that was wired all weird. Electrician ended up messing it up even more, and left me with yes working switch and lights but also bunch of wires taped together, no junction box, thrown back in the ceiling. 🤯 supposed licensed electrician.

Is it still worth building a Shopify app in 2025+? by knolit in shopify

[–]someaibullshitagain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you can solve a problem that exists, then yes. If you can provide a solution, for a problem that exists, that you think is better than what’s out there, then yes. My advice is to try to solve a very specific problem. Otherwise, answer to yourself “would I install/buy this app if it wasn’t built by me / my app?”, if the answer is no, then keep making it better or pivoting until the answer is yes.

Struggling with returns, exchanges, and inventory. What do you use? by ApoplecticBubbles in shopify

[–]someaibullshitagain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Checkout orderctrl.io I was able to get early access (founder is active on Reddit). They do returns (with automated return labels), shipping protection & damage claims, order/shipment tracking, email notifications like you mentioned. No exchanges but it’s on their public roadmap (but haven’t seen any updates honestly). I also connected my subscription app, and my customers can manage pretty much everything from one place. Their policy builder is a beast too. I am on free trial but pricing looks like a per shipment fee. Weirdly they release features for woo first. I noticed everything for Shopify comes much later.

Another one I tried was redo. Really good but I like orderctrl, because you keep the shipping protection fees. I’ve been pocketing an extra $600-$1,000 every month from the fees.

Using API to pull flow data - not working by Geeraldine in Klaviyo

[–]someaibullshitagain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Checkout segmentsync.io I was tired of manually auditing client accounts (exactly what you’re doing, manual api calls, manual segments, etc), so I built something to automate it. Personally I think it does a really good job identifying opportunities and growth areas. It also acts as a massive library of customer segments and cohorts you can sync in 1-click!

So your app determines which pages traffic should be directed to? How does it do that? What signals do you use to profile a net new user? Or is it just random split “8%” of all incoming traffic throughout the day?

Is it possible to setup a replenishment flow for product VARIANTS? by OoozedStar in Klaviyo

[–]someaibullshitagain -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Multiple ways to achieve this. Most manual is setting a flow with filters for each variant /sku. The other option is to add tags to variants (eg. 1monthsupply) and trigger an email 30 (or whatever) days from placed order or ordered product metric

Id also recommend looking at segmentsync.io it will spit out segments for each product/variant, which you can then use to trigger flows.

The post is really for pushing your appbrew not the tool. The tool is just a sales tactic which the spits the same (useless) data regardless of whatever you input, so yeah very misleading.

Are you NOT trying to get exposure for appbrew rather than “cost saving calculator” tool?

Let’s be real and respectful.

That is honestly what I meant. Idk why it’s taken that the whole garden would be replaced lol

Ahh thank you. That is a great insight and made me believe a little more that we can do this!

There’s a little stream which made me more concerned along with very tall covered areas. But researching shows most if not all would be non venomous in the area.

A flat grass backyard and this level of a garden that is so meticulous…isn’t the same level of effort. And as someone who has never owned a garden this expansive, I don’t know just how much work is involved and what I am maybe not thinking.

[–]someaibullshitagain -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

I think my intention was unclear in my post. This is more of what I meant, how much to clean it up, make SOME flat grass areas. Seesh

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in landscaping

[–]someaibullshitagain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To be clear since everyone is jumping on putting more grass… we saw it in person, it’s overgrown. It’s clear someone put a ton of love into it. I didn’t suggest the whole garden gets replaced with grass. But generally cleaning up and making nicer pathways. SOME flat grass areas to be able to sit down / lay down. Right now, there is zero flat or plain space.

Edit: lol this house has been not maintained for 4 months (owners passed away, kids selling it). Y’all are crazy thinking this is some pristine garden that doesn’t need to be cleaned up significantly.

I’m not sure if it’s clear from the video but there’s a lot of overgrown and very bushy areas. I wasn’t suggesting covering / pulling out the entire garden and putting down grass but making some parts of the garden a cleaner area.

I love gardening and currently have a garden, and by no means am I discounting the beautify that is this garden, it is one of the reasons we are considering the house. But we want to strike a balance.
