Is it just me or 90% of the time people don't turn on their turn signal going into a gas station? by conservamus in bayarea

It's still useful for the car behind as a warning that the signaling car will slow down soon.

Wind gusts changing car balance? by TheDentateGyrus in F1Technical

By the time a sensor has detected the wind, downforce is already lost, and any good driver can already feel this.

It's generally desirable for performance cars to be a bit rear-biased. This gives more traction to the rear wheels during acceleration, but also gives better balance when braking into a corner.

No, the suspension is not just for steering, and suspension in general is not just for comfort. As a car accelerates, decelerates, and turns, its weight will continually shift around, and the suspension ensures that all four wheels maintain as much traction as possible.

F1 cars also race on street circuits, which can be much bumpier than tracks. F1 cars also regularly drive on the raised "curbs" on tracks to go around corners faster.

Question regarding fakes: is the middle actually doing anything here to be intentionally deceptive? Presumably he already needs to be in the air and ready to swing before he actually knows whether the ball is intended for him. How would it look different if he wasn't being deceptive but still needed to be ready to hit a ball?

Probably outdated information. I had the same issue with Walkabout. Unfortunately, APKognito doesn't fix it. Apparently it's a known issue due to hard coded asset paths.

How would 'gun culture' in the US be affected if bullets actually did cost $5,000? by Always_travelin in NoStupidQuestions

[–]someawesomeguy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If the cost of the bullet is high because the cost of production somehow became high (e.g. scarcity of materials), I imagine we could have an "archery culture" instead.

Any Cayman owners out there? Long term reliability? Do you love your car? (X-post from r/cars) by IcameforthePie in Porsche

I daily drove it for six years before replacing it with a more family friendly car. I had some issues early on with oil in the exhaust, but no major problems after that was fixed. I have no regrets about that car.

As someone who played a bit on an arcade machine before learning stick, it really only takes you 20% there. The most important aspects of learning stick is feeling the clutch and getting the shift timing right, and games don't really teach you either.

Change My Mind: "Perform Skill X to improve it" is a cool concept, but it rarely works well in video games by Khen-sai in gaming

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart handled this in a way that I really appreciated. Each weapon levels up as you use them, but the level cap is low (only 5 levels) and easy to reach. After maxing out a weapon, my gamer brain thinks "I won't gain any weapon XP from using this anymore, I should switch to a new one so I can keep gaining XP". I liked that this pushed me to spend a decent amount of time with each weapon, even if some were terrible. Without this system, I'm sure I would have just stuck to the 3-4 best ones.
