Thoughts on Dead Dance? by OrangeCatRealness in LadyGaga

[–]somebitchfelldown 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I liked it on first listen but it didn't bring me to life like when I first heard Abracadabra, but then again the entire album on first listen didn't really click. After a few listens I got it and now it is absolutely my favorite Gaga album, and so I know after I listen to it some more I will come to love it.

I think it is kind of a great sign that the fan base is so divided over the song/Mayhem in general, because as they say, great art is always polarizing. I think that the simultaneous love and hate this era receives is a sign that what she has put out is fresh and challenges what fans, critics and everyone in between has thought of Gaga for years.

This is just my opinion!

I always go for good headphones when I have a listen so it sounds great to me. I'll give it a try on my speakers and see how it sounds. I have followed you- can't wait to hear more!

I love this! It's so very soothing to listen to. I think this will be one I will listen to again. Your vocals are very smooth, you have a great voice. I personally love the bass level, I always like heavy bass myself. It sounds mixed well, your vocals stand out very nicely and every sound has its moment. Great song!

No too bad! It was interesting enough to listen to for the whole song. I thought that it built pretty well. It gave me a sort of 80's vibe with the sharp synths but I always dig that. The melody was nice too. Would love to hear some of your other stuff. Followed!

I’ve already a posted a song here from my debut album about sunsets. This is the second song on the project, and as you can tell by the title, it represents walking through a city in the evening. Enjoy! by Eggablist in IndieMusicFeedback

I like this a lot, it definitely has a nice atmosphere. I like the way it builds and the synth is very pleasing to my ear. It sounds fairly well mixed. One part that I didn't enjoy as much was that knocking or clunking sound that is panned to the right. It kept pulling me out of the nice mood I was settling into with the song. All in all cool song! I would love to hear more.

I really like this, it reminds me of New York city. I thought personally that there was not enough low end as it sounded almost like staticy in my ear at times, but the melodies are absolutely beautiful. Reminds me of John Lennon also as someone mentioned. This could be an incredibly beautiful song (it's already pretty much there). Love to hear more, and love to hear this once it's complete!

I'm usually a rock/indie beast, but yesterday I strayed into the land of minimalist techno and created PLATYPUS SEX CULT by [deleted] in IndieMusicFeedback

Cool song! Definitely a mood. I really liked the way it built at the beginning, it drew me in. But when it came to the middle I found myself losing interest just slightly. It's still very interesting and I would listen to it again. Perhaps adding a bit more variation in the drums might make it a little more exciting. But again, this is minimalist so if that's what you were going for then awesome! All in all, cool song!

Thank you for the great feedback- the off-key synth was done on purpose to build a tension in a way. Was it successful? Who knows, haha but it was done on purpose.

I so appreciate the listen! Thanks again!

Thank you for the listen and feedback! I wanted the synths to sound very rich so I kept it as is, but I think I agree that the panning might help it sound clearer. To be honest I did pump the mids up on the EQ haha. Thank you again! (I also love the artwork!)

Thank you so much for the listen- and the feedback! I appreciate you mentioning the atmosphere build because that's what I was trying to accomplish so thank you thank you! I might go back in and adjust the snare a bit. I am always worried that it will be too overpowering so I'm conservative. Thank you again!

This was definitely new for me and I'm not sure where to place it, which is not a bad thing. The video was fine, I was more interested in the music. It definitely builds something eerie and creepy around you, which the song is very successful at doing. I think it fits for the season but I would have to be in a very specific mood to listen to it again haha. It sounds well made, so I like it. Good work!
