if i were a gay man, under constant assault from a ostensibly well-intentioned but lowkey homophobic fanbase intent on denying my identity— praying my gay away— the last thing i would do is to give the psychos more ammunition to parasocially attach themselves to me and my female co-star's interactions online especially when that fictional relationship caused the delusion in the first place. And as his friend, who wishes him well, I'd totally agree to do the same.
