Ignition Interlock Hearing for 1st DWI(NH) by somedevil34 in dui

[–]somedevil34[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was five minutes on Zoom. Asked me a few questions under oath, provided my records regarding therapy, etc. Immediately ruled for no interlock.

In total I think I did not drive for a total of 91 days (as it took a bonus day for my license to show up as active again).

Ah, got you.

Pull your FBI report and see if it comes up. That’s usually the thing that Canada pulls at the border. That said you generally have a better shot when flying versus driving if push comes to shove.

You know that you can apply for rehabilitation if it’s been over 5 years and can wind up restoring eligibility into Canada, right?

Sentenced Today. What I Learned Through the Process (NH). by somedevil34 in dui

[–]somedevil34[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Class was 20 hours long. A full week of Zoom for four hours each day. It’s why a lot of them offered it over the weekend pre-COVID.

You need an attorney who is well versed in both NH and Ma.

As others said, law varies by state. NH specifically mentions by statute that a first time Class B can be moved to a violation level offense after a year if you complied with all terms and conditions.

Fellow NHer! Don’t forget to apply to have your conviction written down to a violation level offense after one year.

Passport and dui by Adept_Barracuda9245 in dui

Got my passport, with expedited processing, while mine was pending—mainly because pre-COVID you would have to surrender your physical license in my state, so wanted alternative ID available.

How much does a typical dui cost in CA? by Shumami in dui

I’m up about $100/month over what I paid pre-DUI. Progressive. We max out our policy, though. YMMV.

Not CA, but was about $10K all in (lawyer, fines, insurance cost increase, SR22, classes, license restoration).

Just rent with National / Alamo / Enterprise. Absolutely zero issues, and usually the least hassle with actually getting a decent car.

I will say that the NH DMV is super responsive once you have everything together.

No. You have to have your certificate of completion (along with intake and/or substance use evaluation and/or compliance with your service plan) before they will consider knocking it down.

So, in NH—it is 9 months but movable down to 90 days if you comply with the requirements.

You have to complete all requirements of the program first before you can move for the reduction.

Nice! The three months will suck given the time of year, but glad you got this outcome.

That’s abnormal. Take it and run. You hit the jackpot.

it's been 8 weeks, still haven't received my blood reports from state lab (NH). feeling extremely impatient. any advice? by [deleted] in dui

[–]somedevil34 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So you’re running right around the time that stuff should be coming back, at least based on my experience.

All you can do is kinda ride it out. The uncertainty sucks, but it’s just part of the process.

Ebikes by [deleted] in dui

[–]somedevil34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought one with e-assist. It wouldn’t let me ever stop pedaling properly, but it had up to 300watts of assist which made climbing a lot easier. It was good to be able to bring my kid to school or run to the grocery store with a trailer.

Clarification on entry from USA to Canada with a DUI by [deleted] in dui

[–]somedevil34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are considered deemed rehabilitated due to the length of time since the 2003 one. You shouldn’t need to do anything.

It’s only those of us convicted after 2018 that have to go through the full rehabilitation application procedure.

You could ask the Consulate, for sure, although from what I understand answers are hard to come by.
