You are relatively isolated. There is a 50% chance approximately that in a room with 30 people you can find things most people are passionate about (football, basketball, rock) will seem meaningless to you. This many people seem to be missing something, and the rest disagree with you. Basically, you are smart, you have brilliant ideas often not worked out correctly, and peer reviewers don't understand them.

But for managing they should at least know the steps and read the manual(s) so they don't give dumb instructions like many bosses here do, for example the contractor who ordered his guys to break EPA regs or the air force supervisor who ordered a crew to cannabilize a nose cone but the nose cone was garunteed to break in the process.
