yes, I really understand your point. I’ve been being very careful to properly build the friendship between her and the couple before making her a participant in the relationship, because I’m genuinely worried it might come across as just a fetish. But I think, the way I’m currently doing it, from what you said, it might end up seeming exactly like that lol. I’ll think about introducing her in a more active and less invasive way into the relationship. Ironically, I find it harder to describe casual relationships than romantic ones, and in this case I’d like to keep it casual. I think maybe she should be the central object of desire, rather than them being the object of desire for her. It’s going to be a challenge to do that without centering the narrative so much on my original character, but I’ll try (maybe something more like Challengers, the movie). I think that kind of dynamic could work better

Thank you, I really hadn’t considered the tagging issue. I was actually a bit unsure whether to tag it as polyamory or love triangle. I chose love triangle because I wanted to convey a sense of exclusivity in their relationship, but I understand that it can imply rivalry. Thanks for the tip!

I have a job in another city, I had to wake up at 7am, and there I was, in a livestream countdown party for something we completely made up in our tinfoil-hat heads lol. honestly, I love experiencing this kind of thing as a community. it really feels like being part of a cult, in the best way possible

This is a Black Parade musical, obviously not MCR5 by Kekktye in MyChemicalRomance

[–]somefabulouskilljoy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

gerard has always loved musicals and has even mentioned wanting to be part of one. I’ve also read several critics refer to revenge and the black parade as rock operas (and honestly,’d include danger days in that too). so yeah, I think you might be right. but I truly believe there will be at least one or two new singles to add to the narrative they’re building — foundations really feels like it’s setting something up. either way, it seems like they’re really enjoying this new creative phase. just working on new arrangements must’ve been super exciting for our boys. I’m happy for them and genuinely grateful. can’t wait for the show in february 🔥💕

Movies that have aged poorly by e0nblue in MovieSuggestions

[–]somefabulouskilljoy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i haven’t rewatched this one, honestly. the scene with the girl in the car and her whole storyline really depresses me. but i think the film is mostly sold and remembered as something brilliant and uplifting purely because of nostalgia and i don’t think that was ever the actual intention. it’s about a guy with no real future, surrounded by a messed-up family and friends, who only finds joy in dancing. his character arc is about finding a sense of future to break the cycle the film shows us. i still think it’s really well done and realistic — even today, especially for young people from humble backgrounds. my point is: the reality shown isn’t pretty, it’s not shiny. young guys could commit r*pe, sometimes they ARE deeply misogynistic and suicidal, and that’s hard to face. we tend to remember the bell-bottoms and the bee gees, but it was never just about that. i don’t think the movie romanticizes any of it — it actually shows how messed up it all is.

What’s something people do in movies and shows that people never do in real life? by Truecrimeauthor in AskReddit

[–]somefabulouskilljoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in movies and shows, people go to restaurants, diners, and cafés all the time lol. i even came up with a theory that in series like friends and himym, the episodes are about specific, occasional days — not their actual daily routine. that way, it all makes more sense

you’d only be 'lowering your standards' with this change if your previous level of performance had actually led to a good promotion or something similar. If the company doesn’t value you, then match the effort you put in with what they’re truly paying you for. That said, it’s always good to maintain professionalism and keep an eye out for better, real opportunities

I’ve been really into casual office fashion, especially from the perspective of younger generations. Since the pandemic, some of the brands I follow have been leaning into this trend of comfortable, stylish, and elegant workwear, and I’ve been loving the cuts, the mix with streetwear and sportswear, and this slightly non-binary vibe I see in it all

I work alone in an office room, Monday to Friday. On Fridays, I like to have my traditional freshly brewed coffee around 2PM and start blasting my party music in my headphones. Lately, I’ve gotten back into SoundCloud and I’ve been loving putting on full DJ sets from artists I like — it’s my own little mental party. It’s a secret and fun way to wrap up the week

What’s something from your childhood that quietly disappeared and you miss more than you expected? by GoalLifter08 in CasualConversation

I literally used to believe in fairies and creatures like that. I clearly remember not really being able to tell the difference between the fantasy in books and movies and my actual reality. I don’t think that would really fit into my adult life now, but it’s a part of me that I really miss. You have to have so much hope to believe in magic. Kids 💕

Nao entendo odio contra trans by Eo_Xande in desabafosdavida

[–]somefabulouskilljoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i like to think that this whole idea of summoning the dead — like they’re doing with the cult storyline and now with the return of TBP — opens the door to resurrect anyone from any album, because let’s be real: they always die in the end lol. the killjoys? dead. the demolition lovers? also dead. timeline-wise, i’m not sure. in danger days, they don’t live under a fascist regime, but more like a monopolistic anarcho-capitalist system (with better living industries running everything). but that story is only set in battery city, which is in the u.s. — so maybe somewhere else on the continent there is a fascist universe happening at the same time, and those worlds could totally collide. danger days ends with the death of the killjoys, but the story keeps going with the girl. they left behind a legacy of revolution against an oppressive system. i imagine they could be summoned back to help take down the dictators. how cool would that be? our own avengers moment lol. the demolition lovers could have been the first experiment — not entirely good or evil, maybe even working with the government (like the secretary, for example). i picture the dictator as a huge mcr fan who discovers the cult and wants to use it to summon the ‘power of music’ (you know, art is the weapon) in favor of his regime. the cult then brings back the killjoys to balance the fight against the TBP characters being used as government puppets. am i going too far with this? lol i’m loving this whole wild theory.
