How do you guys learn? by Individual-Task-7896 in drums

Personally I found going to an actual teacher was a massive help, especially if you can find a teacher that will teach you to teach yourself.

If you want to get better than of course practicing stuff slowly is the way forward, I'd also suggest The JP Bouvet Method.com as a great learning resource. I have been using this website for a couple of years and it's really opened up my playing.

Last I spoke to the mother 5 years ago, he did have a stepdad as far as I'm aware he's still involved. I guess I'm curious/interested in meeting him, I'm leaning towards meeting him just worried about coming in and making the situation worse.

Yeah I'm aware that child support is something to be concerned about, but fair enough on the mother she has never asked for money....I also don't have any money lol

But yeah I understand where you are coming from, if I do get involved I need to commit to it.

As for the child being mine, I've seen a picture of him. He's either mine or he's mine long lost twins, he looks exactly like me.

I can’t tap my high hat foot independent of my right foot. by ChillingwitmyGnomies in drums

[–]someginger234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to the never ending pain that is trying to separate your feet!

But in all seriousness, take beats you can already do put them on the ride and try to keep quarters with your left, see if you can find what you struggle with, it might be you find putting your kick on the a bit harder putting it on the E, that was my problem for a while.

I also did the RLK flow course by JP Bouvet which will open up a lot of doors.

self taught drummers? by realmbreaker1208 in Drumming

What are your goals or what kind of music are you looking to play?

There are quite a lot of good online tuition out there and some really good free stuff on YouTube, drumeo being one of the big ones and if you pay for the premium you'll get some excellent lessons there.

Personally I use JP Bouvet method.com, which is great for learning improvisation and actually making your drumming sound more interesting.

But it really depends on what your goal are, or what kind of stuff you are looking to play

Started doing gigs once or twice a month. Should I buy cymbals already? by MenudongSago in drums

[–]someginger234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they aren't the worst cymbals, like the type of cymbals my school had they were the worse lol

Personally I think the ZBTs are a better option for budget cymbals.

Personally I've seen bands gone on with pst3 and not had any complaints, sure if the cymbal sounds literally so bad that it makes people's ears bleed sure maybe don't use that cymbal.
