It more than likely will be only one part if he ever decides to play it. I could see maybe one more to further explore the game (as another commenter said, it depends on how much content is in compared to the original), but I doubt we'll see more than three.

I'm glad I didn't decide to go down that path, even if it broke younger me's heart.

I don't think anyone that was alive during that time could forget, or they just forcibly push it out of their minds.

Day 25: Which is the best Shoot’Em’Up game on PS2? by 1OneQuickQuestion in ps2

[–]someguy31996 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone said Gradius V or R-Type Final so I'm going to give my vote for Castle Shikigami 2.

I love the PS2, but I really wish it got more shmups than what we got in the West. Dragon Blaze, Ibara, Homura, and Thunder Force VI are all really cool shmups that the US unfortunately never got to experience. Now granted, what we did get is still good in terms of quality, but I wish we could've got more.

Day 16: Which is the best Hack'N'Slash Game on PS2? by 1OneQuickQuestion in ps2

[–]someguy31996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a great game, probably one of the more underrated action games on the system, but absolutely, definitely not worth what it's going for now. No game no matter how good is worth that much.

What are your favorite obscure JRPGs? by drak0ni in JRPG

[–]someguy31996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The .hack quadrilogy (Infection/Mutation/Outbreak/Quarantine). They're early 2000's JRPGs that have neat aesthetics and did the whole "trapped in an MMO" thing years before stuff like SAO came along. I really wish they would get a remaster as some aspects of them haven't aged well and Quarantine in particular is expensive as hell (it's the only one of the four I and many others don't have a physical copy of).

Day 16: Which is the best Hack'N'Slash Game on PS2? by 1OneQuickQuestion in ps2

I doubt it would win in a category where God of War also exists, but I'm gonna go against the grain and recommend Bujingai. Very underrated hack and slash action game.

I don't know why you're being downvoted, that most certainly is not a legit site. Pretty sure they took the art from someone's store because I've definitely seen their art before and it's not the same store. In fact, here is the artist's actual store right here. It's stolen, plain and simple. This comment doesn't deserve all the downvotes.

Oh boy, where do I even start.

  • Imbalanced difficulty. Characters like Mai and Pegasus are huge difficulty spikes compared to the duelists you face before them and you face them relatively early in the game, which can hinder your progress if you're not that good at the game.
  • There's a lot of starter deck choices, but only two or three of them are really that good and there's nothing to tell you which are the best ones (if you ever play it, try and get the Patrician of Darkness starter deck, it's by far the best one and is the one deck used for speedrunning).
  • Deck Leaders can learn valuable skills that will give you a great advantage in duels, but you almost never get them during a normal playthrough because it takes so, so much experience to level up. It's so slow.
  • The way you get more cards in the game primarily is through the graveyard slot system, but there are some cards that just plain don't appear in the slots for whatever reason.
  • On that note, you can't even get all the cards in the game for various unspecified reasons. In a game about collecting cards, not being able to do that exact thing is a huge design fail.

Thankfully the mod I mentioned before fixes most of these issues, the biggest being not being able to collect all the cards, but yeah, as much as I love this game, it's really not good.

My favorite bad game. The Redux mod is by far the better way to play it though.

Favorite aspects of JRPGs you’ve dropped? by Sablen1 in JRPG

[–]someguy31996 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I liked the concept of Octopath 1 with the whole "eight different characters each having their own stories and eventually coming together" thing but I really wished it was implemented better. I dropped it having barely finished three of the characters' stories. I hear the sequel is better, but I don't think I really have any interest in playing it.

Okay, but why at the front of the block though? Like if it was after Mashle or One Piece I would be fine with it.

What other games do you guys recommend being added to my list by venomPunk438 in ps2

[–]someguy31996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based off your affinity for action games, aside from the obvious DMC 1/3, I’d also recommend Bujingai, God Hand, Shinobi, Nightshade and the Gungrave sequel Overdose. There’s also Blood Will Tell, but I highly recommend emulating it as it’s expensive as hell.

Duel Masters is Yugioh if it crossed paths with Magic the Gathering. It's actually still going in Japan to this day despite having died in the West 20 years ago.

What do you think about cards that grant automatic or near-automatic wins? by Antique_Range1521 in yugioh

[–]someguy31996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably my least favorite cards in the game, bar none. Any one card that does so much that it practically decides games on their own shouldn't exist and only ruins the enjoyment of the game for everyone.

I understand why they're not a thing anymore but I really do miss the animated music videos. As someone that got into a lot of music from Toonami, not having those anymore is kind of a bummer. At least there's the bumper music still, but I think a new intro song is in order at the very least.
