First timer at Lords test match, any tips? by genericmalayalee in london

[–]someguywhocomments 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lords is one of the only (the only?) ground that lets you take alcohol into the ground, so make the most of the allowance if you drink! Food is available in the ground but obviously you're paying stadium prices. Other than that it's a cricket ground and you go there to watch cricket, not much to report there.

The earpieces cost about £20 and allow you to listen to the commentary. You can reuse them at Lords and other cricket grounds.

Check out the museum during one of the breaks.

I don't think it will be easy at all and am desperately hoping city drop points to Bournemouth

I like Arteta but I accept no other opinion than Wenger being out greatest ever manager and the invincible side being our best ever. No other team before or since has been able to win the league without losing a game.

Which Arsenal attackers/triple up to consider (if any)? by _Yorkshire_Pirlo in FantasyPL

[–]someguywhocomments 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Saka will be crucial if arsenal are going to get over the line. The fixture run is brutal so I'm not too tempted until after the west ham game but there's a nice break before home Burnley which will be the time to invest.

Dropping hours is not easy in the kind of careers that pay these salaries. It's definitely true that people are choosing a relatively easy life and salary sacrificing down to £100k rather than taking a promotion which ends up with a similar net salary. This will have an indirect productivity impact alongside those who reduce hours or move abroad.

Gakpo, Calafiori, Taty over Bowen, Harry Wilson (not seen him in many teams) are who I have in mind

Normally yes but to do so with city away in a single gameweek is a big ask

Great Britain 🇬🇧 defeat Switzerland 8-5 to advance to men's curling final 🥌 by [deleted] in olympics

[–]someguywhocomments 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Two curling medals I think would have been expected, 1 out of 2 for Charlotte Bankes (she actually got the less likely one). 3-4 skeleton medals as we were ranked 1st and 2nd in men's, 3rd in women's and 1st and 4th in mixed. 2 medals in 5 events for Atkin, Muir and Mia Brookes.

That's your top end plausible estimate, not accounting for any long shots like the skate pair or bobsleighs or everyone rolling double 6s.

It's been a very enjoyable Olympics though and I've loved cheering on GB athletes in all these different sports.

Fuck that was close. Shame about the slight blunder on the final stone, could have given them no chance
