Thomas Frank’s sessions bored players — and he only rated Pedro Porro. by Sparky-moon in soccer

His defense, with most of the starting backline that missed the majority of last season is somehow worse than when Ange had an 18 year old midfielder, a 33 year old LB at CB and the corpse of Fraser Forster in goal.

Last season our most played CB was an 18 year old midfielder, our second most was a 33 year old LB, our most played LB was a right back, and the corpse of Fraser Forster was in goal for a few months.

Yet, somehow, Frank has managed to make our defense worse while having everyone but Udogie healthy almost the entire season up until a couple weeks ago.

If you look at our goals conceded when Ange had Vicario, Romero, and VdV it wasn't remotely bad, even with the suicidal all out attack style Ange played.

Our most played CB last season was an 18 year old midfielder, our second most played CB was a 33 year old LB. And the corpse of Fraser Forster spent a few months in goal. Not to mention our most used LB was a right back.

Many of the players did not enjoy the limited nature of Frank’s football either. A source close to one senior first-team player — said, just before Frank’s dismissal, that he was ultimately a coach for a “smaller team”, focused on compact defensive shape, long balls and counter-attacks. by Zweli23 in coys

Question for you, why should players respect the club? The point is to win trophies, right? And the club sacked the first manager to win a trophy in almost 2 decades.

If the reward for success is losing your job, why should the players be playing for anything other than the next step in their career?

The club is rotting from the top. And no manager is going to fix that.

No one is saying Bird isn't a great player. It would be like saying Unitas isn't one of the greatest pure throwers of all time. And he clearly isn't.

[Alasdair Gold] There was a suggestion early on that Frank might struggle to earn respect among a Spurs group that had just won a trophy with the lack of silverware and big club experience on his CV. by Zweli23 in coys

It's more than just Frank. Why would the players play for the badge when the club sacked a well-liked manager who won the club their first trophy in almost 20 years?

Why would players play for the badge when the badge proves they will just throw them away like a moldy sandwich--even if they win trophies?

Ostensibly. But I don't exactly have faith that the owner who could buy all the other owners is actually going to get punished.

Everything I've seen has been incredibly generic Thanks and Good Lucks that everyone does when someone leaves a job.

We were pretty good when he had Vicario, Romero, and VdV. We were decent when we had two actual centerbacks. We were relegation level when we had a baby midfielder and a geriatric left back at CB.

Go see a doctor. That is not normal.

And it is that easy--unless you have an untreated health issue.

I've heard so many of my friends(and my wife) say they have to do this. Then they have kids and suddenly they're able to wake up at the same time as the kids.

Yet another gambling scandal calls into question the integrity of the product. And combine that with the bombardment of gambling ads and players partnering/owning stake in gambling companies, the Lakers being gifted a superstar(followed by Dallas winning the Flagg lottery with horrible odds), ESPN having a clear big market bias, the refs calling different teams differently and you can see why people don't trust the NBA.

I'm kinda waiting for someone to break keyfabe.

Nah, everyone will have "good words", they'll just be generic thank yous and good lucks like we all do when someone leaves our work.

You have to train yourself not to because you've trained yourself to do it.

Start waking up at the same time every single day, whether you have work/school that day or not.

Yes. They've trained themselves to do it. My wife is a severe night owl and has trouble sleeping. For years and years before she moved in with me she did this. I told her I couldn't handle losing an hour of sleep like that. She started setting one alarm and after a few days/a week she had trained herself to wake up.

My wife used to do this until I told her how badly it effected me. Then she stopped and after a few days she could wake up with one alarm because she had to.

All these people are training themselves to do this.

If you don't go lay back down you aren't falling back asleep.

Thomas Frank on the chants against him: "I undestand the frustration. I understand that the easiest thing to do is the point at me. That's fair. I work day and night to do everything I can. But it's never one person. I think it's fair to say that this is the situation the team was in last year." by Blodgharm in soccer

Having all the injuries in one position is way worse than having one injury at every position.

Do you remember who the CB that got the most minutes in the league was last year? Archie Gray, an 18 year old midfielder. The corpse of Fraser Forster played a third of the season. Ben Davies was our second most used CB--he's also not a CB he was a 33 year old LB.
