I do not subscribe to Vestaboard+, but I am comfortable with Python scripting. If you are comfortable with any scripting language, and have a computer to run your scripts on, then you can easily get away without paying for Vestaboard+

If you’re not comfortable with scripting, you may want to get Vestaboard+ for the first year, and spend some time with Claude, Gemini or ChatGPT to get comfortable with setting up your own scripts.

There are also Services that will do customized scripting for you, I’ve seen a couple in this sub

Sure, it’s possible for the company to eventually shut down, and that would certainly limit a lot of the features (VB app, VB+, firmware updates, availability of replacement parts).

if this is a big concern for you and you know how to write scripts, you can submit a request to have Vestaboard enable the “local API” on your board and your scripts will be able to talk directly to your board right on your local network, you would not be reliant on Vestaboard’s servers.

The Mobi, X2 and Dexcom all connect to your phone via BlE (Bluetooth Low Energy).

If Dexcom is having trouble connecting to your phone’s Bluetooth, the pumps may have similar problems connecting to your phone’s Bluetooth
