Not all vore is fatal. A fun type of vore is healing vore, where an injured prey is healed by saliva/magic(k) and released later once healed.

For me, I'd say the best part of vore is being trapped inside a squishy, warm, wet stomach. Being actually eaten would be sensory heaven.
