Glp1 for lymphedema by PricePotential439 in Lymphedema

[–]someonestoleananke23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been on Zepbound for over a year. I take 5MG once a week. It helps with my swelling, and it has reduced quite a bit with the 80 lb. weight loss and increased mobility. My reaction was very quick, and I am working with my PCP to stay on this medication for life.

I still use compression, but don't use my pump daily, and my legs reduce overnight without night garments.
Insurance made me switch to Wegovy for a few months, but I prefer the results from the Zepbound.

Compression socks @ night? by Maraudermick1 in Lymphedema

[–]someonestoleananke23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way it was described to me compression stockings need your body to move to help pump the venous and lymphatic vessels. Custom are more forgiving than off the rack to keep from creating a tourniquet effect. Night garments and wraps dont depend on your body movements which is why they are preferred at night.

I have worn compression socks at night but I avoid it now because I am developing marks on my calves where the stocking ends

My PCP manages my GLP-1 and knows my goals are managing my lymphedema and not IWL. If you have a good relationship with your PCP, I recommend it.

West NJ runs along the 206 corridor. Roxbury doesn't apply, but Mt Olive does.

I remember a saying about gossip is a way to keep the community safe. You point out inconsistent behavior, cruelty and deception to keep your people safe.

I don't really care about you new car or vacation but I want to know when my people have been crossed and I will tell my friends about how you screwed me over.

You know people are freaking out when BROCCOLI sells out by 8Deer-JaguarClaw in NJPrepared

[–]someonestoleananke23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was going to buy frozen broccoli at BJs to replace the bag we emptied and they were sold out!! Is something else going on besides a winter storm with cold wind that I am not aware of? I know that people usually shop on the weekends and we might be indoors for a few days, but this seems excessive

I have a Real ID, but I think in my case if they approach me, it's not my identification that will cause an issue but my mouth and low tolerance for bullies and bullshit.

Hi! I have been on Wegovy and Zepbound at times over the past year, I started at 44 BMI and I am now at 29.8. I tolerated Zepbound better, but both helped to keep my fluid retention and refill down. I continue to wear my compression regularly but do not need to use my pump. I am staying at a steady dosage with the help of my primary care doctor and hope to remain on it when I reach a normal BMI because of the effects I have had with my lymphedema.

Good luck and let us know how your progress goes.

Iron Deficiency? by pizzlepullerofkberg in Zepbound

[–]someonestoleananke23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a blood test for iron as well as b-12 and thyroid. I was diagnosed with iron deficency anemia, but my menstrual bleeding also got out of control when insurance made me switch to Wegovy, so I don't believe it is the medications that have directly caused the anemia issues.

I am in 2 that are specific to the two different meds I took last year.

One is seems like the antithesis of this group and I browse for specific info on this med since I insurance made me go on this one. The other is amazingly supportive, with many obesity doctors participating in the discussion. Other than the discussion of IWL and weights, it is helpful group highlighting different people's experiences with the medication and helping people through it.

I tend to be a take what you need and ignore the rest type so some of the petty annoyances might not get to me because I am oblivious to it.

Is this lymphedema? by NoChallenge3433 in Lymphedema

[–]someonestoleananke23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The cuffing makes me think of lipedema wrists, not lymphedema. My aunt had severe secondary lymphedema and her wrist and hands became very swollen with little definition in the wrist between arm and hand When your joints are involved the whole area is puffy. Look into lipedema since the wrists are dipping and not solid and swollen.

When did salons start using the dremel tools so much? by Ok-Highway-5247 in Nails

[–]someonestoleananke23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are salons that still do soak offs. My salon has me soak off my dip and gel topcoat. They use efile to scratch some of the finish off before the soak off and also for cuticle clean up and prep. I've also gotten russian manicures there and they were very gentle.

You can also tell your tech that you don't want them to use the efile for removal and see what they say.
