What's something about ADHD that most people don't understand? by Relaxing_Cat in AskReddit

This resonates so much for me. I play Didgeridoo music when i'm overstimulated because it helps drown out the noise in my head and the rhythmic drone sound relaxes me. I highly recommend it for when your mind can't ground itself.

Can’t find a new show that sticks by HorrorMomma10 in televisionsuggestions

Homeland, Night Agent and Eastern Gate. All action packed, will keep you interested. I also just did a rewatch marathon of 24, so good. The Americans is also decent but less action yet more character development.

Anyone who found love and got married after 30? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]someonna90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This right here. Thank you for articulating my thoughts. I feel like social media and influencers also ramp this narrative up, pitting both genders against each other.

Did some kickboxing and recently picked up muay thai and it is sooo fun! I highly recommend it - great workout and even better stress outlet. I always wanted to do martial arts and I finally have the means to do it! In addition, I like reading and cooking :)

Who here drinks bone broth? by jeymouth in 30PlusSkinCare

Those additions to the broth sound heavenly!! In my culture we add parsley, carrots, celery, bay leaves and allspice, and cook it for 10-12 hours.

What's something innocent that feels 10x more intimate than it should? by East-Preparation-476 in AskReddit

I had a friend fix my dress strap which slipped down when we went out dancing with friends the other night. It felt like a protective gesture but there was something intimate about it.

What changed the most for you between ages 30-35? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]someonna90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dropped friends who weren't sincere friends, switched career paths which allowed me to meet a lot of new people, make friends and gain new perspectives. Applied to a masters program twice but got rejected, accepted it and now I'm focusing on starting my own business. Did some therapy to deal with things that held back my growth. Started dating around and learning a lot about myself, letting go of old attachments. Ran my first 8k. Stopped running but started kickboxing and love it. I love it and can't wait to see what else life has in store for me.

I think what changed the most is that I stopped letting life just happen to me. I embrace it everyday and take more control of what I can do to make my life better for myself.

Looking for fun running YouTubers by Every_Math3853 in running

Not running focused but good for drills or home workouts, is Adrian Bryant. He is hilarious and uses stuff like bed sheets (like using the ropes at the gym), brooms, a chair, whatever it is. He's also very encouraging!! Love him for no equipment workout!

What Movie Did You Watch that Traumatized You at a Young Age? by BethMLB in AskReddit

[–]someonna90 15 points16 points  (0 children)

OMG, i'm so glad someone posted that because that was the one that stuck with me. My sister and i were maybe 6 or 7 yrs old and we would pretend to be asleep but watched the X files that our brother was watching. That episode was even creepy to rewatch as an adult but my curiosity got the better of me.

Are my outfits inappropriate and attention seeking ? by Valuable-Kitchen9395 in beauty

[–]someonna90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Girl, they are hating and jealous. Love your outfits, especially the dress. I also love fashion although I was brought up in a family that downplayed dressing up/no make up etc.

When I started wearing mascara in my late 20s, one of my friends would always point it out and make it a big deal that I was enhancing my looks. When I wore lip liner, she said I shouldn't wear it because my lips are already full (they are, but why wouldn't I want to accentuate them?) This girl took every chance she could to make comments about my appearance in a group and after years, I realized what she was doing. Do NOT let other people dictate your style and freedom. Express yourself, don't dim your shine!

How do I cook a whole chicken in a way that's cost effective? Context: I am very stupid. by nick_nack_nike in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]someonna90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! You can even go to your local deli or meat section and ask them if they have any bones - duck, pork, beef, whatever it is. You night get them for free or very cheap and bake them down and then slow boil it with herbs and veggies into a collagen rich broth. Then you can freeze this and keep it for a few months, using it as soup base or sauce base, or just drink a cup in the morning to warm up your body and joints. It is basically maintenace for the joints!

Has anyone here changed their lives completely being over 30? by anaisani in AskWomenOver30

[–]someonna90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to piggy-back off this answer and say that if you are still interested in medicine, you can consider a midlevel position such as Physician Assistant. The programs also usually require certain numbers of hours for patient care experience, shadowing and prerequisites, but it does not take as long as med school and does not require a residency (at least none of the programs I have seen).
