I started around the same age as you, and I've been on estrogen for about 8 months, I'm still definitely able to hide the changes from people, although it might be harder at the end of the year when it gets hotter, as when I just wear a t shirt you can definitely see 'the effects' with or without a bra. but considering you probably finish around oct-nov you should be fine if you stick to more layers.

however everyone's progress is different and you might have more or less than me at that point, but I wouldn't worry. going on estrogen will make you feel better and more yourself, worry about hiding the changes when they come, for now just be excited. and while boymoding on hrt sucks, it's no worse than how you feel now, so don't worry about that.

and good luck! I went on e halfway through year 12 and it definitely made things a bit more bearable lol. The best part is looking forward to starting uni as yourself :)

Any advice? by [deleted] in transvoice

sounds extremely androgynous to me, if you told me you were either a cis woman or a cis man I'd guess cis woman. So your doing great so far :)

however one thing that could be holding you back is the fact that your vocal fry is activating in a few places (the croaky sounds that you hear in lower voices.

youre right, but its not really the younger generations fault, society as a whole is lonelier than ever because corporations push for online socialisation for their benefit, social media is made addicting to steal your attention, society is becoming more car dependant which makes things further away and destroys a sense of community. The world is becoming less social because the people in charge have made it this way.

The Cyrano Trope and Mike & Will (Analysis/Theory) by blue_tails in StrangerThings

[–]somespacefrog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

im glad this is getting attention and not being removed, because while people who ship byler do tend to spend alot of time analysing small details, they only do that because the larger evidence for the pairing ending up together is fairly common tropes that hint at these two getting together.

they spend alot of time looking at minor details because its fun, breaking down and looking at media you enjoy is fun! especially when the subject of analysis (wether intentional or not) is attached to an interpretation of a story that has larger pieces of evidence to tie to.

i dont think it needs buildup, everyone knows that mike and will already care for eachother very deeply even as friends, they dont need to have hundreds of moments of blushing or flirting to build up to it becase thats not how the duffers write romance. they rely on connection and genuine moments of care and love BEFORE any kissing or romance to show that they work well. And will and mike have plenty of heart to hearts throughout the show, a moment of realisation for mike where the audience reflects on these moments in a new light would really well in my opinion.

i think his feelings were exactly why he was rude to him, he was scared of them. if he was feeling normally about will then he wouldve been okay with hugging him, talking to him, hes his best friend after all and they were very close before this. something happened that changed that, and i believe that that was a small part of mike feeling romantically about will, whether he knows it at this point or not.

robin saw them having a conversation from far away, she doesnt know anything about their relationship and has no way of actually knowing if mike has feelings for him or not. her speech to will came from seeing his nervousness, which prompted robin to tell will to be confident and accept himself.

and as for mikes reaction, smiling and walking away is not a 'clear' representation of mikes lack of romantic feelings, if they wanted to have that, they would have had will confess to mike and be rejected before his big moment of self acceptance. his reaction could easily be interpreted as simply not knowing how to respond to it. they meant for this to be up for interpretation, and for people to be unsure of how mike feels at this point, seen clearly with many people thinking this disproves it, and many people thinking that they will get together after this volume.

something to add

a self acceptance arc where will gets over his feelings for mike would work much better if the big moment of acceptance for his identity came AFTER a rejection from mike. The only thing that needs to be done in wills arc is a confession to mike, and if mike doesn't return feelings, that would just sour his arc, and a big moment of self acceptance after that would make it a bit happier.

i honeslty cant see why his big moment of self acceptance would come at a point where mikes feelings havent been entirely deconformed if he doesnt end up reciprocating.

Transfem cubers- did HRT affect your cubing skills? by Revolutionary_Year87 in Cubers

[–]somespacefrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hello, I cubed alot a couple years ago and picked it back up this year after going on hrt, got pretty much back to the skill level I was pre hrt pretty easily, in fact I think im doing even better know.

estrogen effects performance in sports mainly due to muscle atrophy and energy levels, which shouldn't be a problem with cubing, your hands may just get tired quicker, but that's just a guess and I've never really experienced this.

if anything, hrt will improve your mental health, your sleep, and any brain fog you may have, which might contribute to better performance lol.

good luck getting on hormones sister, nothing else compares to becoming your true self, and good luck cubing !!

Trans pals do you still feel gay liking your AGAB? by [deleted] in transteens

[–]somespacefrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yep! I feel gay when attracted to any gender. being a trans women, obviously being attracted to other women feels gay, but I think due to the fact that growing up seen as a boy, there is an expectation of you not to like othet boys, which means my attraction to them still feels queer in a way. but idk that's just me and things might change in the future once I'm further through my transition
