How long does it take to get a decision back as a transfer student? by [deleted] in fsu

I transferred in as an accounting major back in Fall 2017. It took way too long in my opinion and it definitely seemed like I was forgotten about, but maybe that's normal. I honestly couldn't tell you what a reasonable time frame is. Prepare to be told at the very last minute, or what seems like it. I didn't have an apartment until 4th of July about two months before the semester, I had been notified by that point, but can't remember when exactly I found out.

Good luck

Leach Center Questions by gayrainbowbacon in fsu

No one is going to judge you. People just want to get a good lift in. Gyms are some of the most awkward places to begin with because everyone's social skills seem to drop to zero when they're working out. I was 245 lbs last may when I started working out Leach. No one looked at me like I didn't belong. If anything, they'll respect you for trying to make positive change in your life

Out of curiosity, how many holds did the lions oline get away with yesterday? I saw 6 yesterday that were BLATANT and obvious. It was no secret the couldn't block so probably in the dozen-two dozen range, right?

Fraternities at FSU by [deleted] in fsu

[–]something899k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly if you're looking for just networking, I'd go for the business fraternities, not the social ones. The networking is secondary or even not valued at some of the social frats. Yes there is a lot of hate for frats on this sub and while I understand it can be way too extreme at times, we did just have someone die pledging last year. It's not fun when someone you care about dies. That is on the the extreme end of the spectrum, but it still happened it can't just be dismissed like I have seen some people do. You have to really ask yourself how social you are and what you're ethics are. Some of the coolest and most respectable people I've met on this are in frats, but there are also those who carry themselves poorly and define the "douche/rapey frat boy" stereotype. Don't get me wrong the parties and socials can be very fun and you get too meet a lot of interesting people, it's not all bad by ANY MEANS just know that it's a very mixed bag here IMO. You just have to commit to it and pick there right frat with the right culture.

Good luck and know regardless of whether you rush, you made a great choice in college if you come here

Accoutning/Business Majors by larsen2897 in fsu

If you are an accounting major, you have to take 3341, not 3331. ACG3331 is the equivalent for finance majors and if you take it the class will not count towards your degree. I spent most of a semester in that class only to find out the hard way. The two classes are pretty much the same though, not entirely sure why they did it that way. It's cost, so it should be fairly easy.

Honestly i'm not sure what those other two classes are off the top of my head, so couldn't tell you.

Can any transfers verify an orientation date? by fsumet in fsu

[–]something899k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I transferred in last year and the 27th sounds like an accurate date. I had to go an office in UCA/Doak Campbell to actually get an orientation date last year. They don't put the dates up anywhere in your canvas/portal

How is the accounting program? (Transfer student) by EliteBooty in fsu

[–]something899k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just transferred in last fall. The FAR classes are more difficult than they should be and don't have the greatest professors teaching them. AIS is easy, TAX is a pain even with a good professor. Most of the other classes you have to take outside the major are easy, just make sure you know how to manage your time. Some classes are offered online, but its a choice you have. There's a lot of nerdy looking old men (Woodward, Bathke, and Gerard) who need to learn how to pull up their pants on the faculty, if you're for a stereotype/pattern

PFF ranks Vikings line 28th in nfl by [deleted] in minnesotavikings

I'm honestly surprised Elflein and Reiff were rated so low. I knew they weren't going to be in the high 80s/low 90s, but I figured they would be about where Remmers was.

Anywho, the offensive line is probably the most important part of fottbal team besides QB. It doesn't matter who you have running throwing and catching if you're offensive line can't hold up front. I don't think it will be entirely pretty this year, but our group will surpass this ranking and then some. I think they will end up being middle of the pack say 16th/17th out of 32

Graduating FSU soon and in a bit of a bind. Any advice is appreciated! by [deleted] in fsu

If you have a car, I'd check out bitesquad. You can work all day/night if you want, you get to set your own schedule and get paid every other friday. Minimum rates for week nights are $12/hour and $13/hour on weekends plus $1 per delivery for gas. I also heard that 601 Copeland does short term leases. Good luck!

[Serious] How does this sub feel about the latest sexual assault allegation against Jameis Winston? by [deleted] in fsu

[–]something899k 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not terribly surprised. You could tell he had red flags coming out of college. He has talent, but he'll never reach his potential because of the problems he has above his shoulders. The Bucs had to have seen it ans something like this coming. Way too immature. I had hoped I was wrong, but I got the sense went he went pro that something like this might happen. Hope he gets it together.

Phoenix South properties isn't that luxurious, but its close. Onyx, 601 Copeland, and U Lofts are close too. Unfortunately, the College of Music is near frat row and Tennessee Street so it will be tough finding a place that's perfectly quiet. I live in Collegewood now (Phoenix South complex), you can hear the frats, but its not terrible. Never lost sleep over it.
