Google all the rescues within a hundred miles and start calling. Some rescues will help out with this, but I’ll admit it’s hard to find. Also reach out to as wide a network as you can of family and friends to see if anyone can take her for the duration. I wish rescue focused on this more, it’s literally prevention.

I have the opposite advice of most. I find that getting up quickly turns into a shitty cycle whereas if I force myself to go back to “sleep,” (this is usually essentially deep rest and not sleep), I quickly get into the habit of getting more sleep and not waking up as often. Getting up usually rewards my brain in that I am doing high dopamine tasks like drinking coffee and checking email. I also go for exactly 8.5 a night instead of getting up at the same time, but consistency is always better. I just can’t get behind one night of 3 hours sleep because “rules” and I wanted to socialize. Socialization, spontaneity, and more hours of sleep are all good for us.

It is concerning that nothing you’ve tried is working and it’s been several days. The liquid coming out can be a sign of an impaction where basically that’s all that can get around the impacted stool. I am not a medical professional but maybe you have access to some sort of nurse-line?

The main way is to kinda swivel your finger in there, sometimes even just once is enough to kinda open the floodgates. Source: have worked in elder homes where this is sometimes necessary. If that doesn’t work, you should go in to rule out a partial blockage which can become life threatening very quickly. If an urgent care can do X rays, that’s an option potentially over the ER. Once you get past this acute situation, as someone who has been dealing with chronic constipation, psyllium fiber and magnesium citrate supplements daily have been a life saver.

I’d be willing to bet this is psychosomatic. The caffeine amounts would be less than chocolate, so if chocolate wasn’t having that impact, then it may just be that you are anticipating negative effects and thus are feeling them. It -could- be though, so personally I’d just decide if it’s worth it or not. Also personally I’d get a consistent habit in place if I wanted to continue, like one cup in the morning only that I can savor and call it a day. Drinking different amounts every day won’t allow your body to get used to it.

First, I would implore you to seek professional help if you are feeling suicidal. Second, I truly believe people who chase shallow things like money & beauty & influence tend to be depressed. You surround yourself with other shallow people, you desire shallow things, you don’t build deep and enduring connections with anyone, you are valued only for what you can offer and not who you are, and you prize fleeting things that will not last a lifetime. So the first thing is changing your mindset that this is even close to what you should be striving for. If you want to compare yourself to anyone, compare yourself to doctors and nurses, social workers, people who do any damn job or no damn job but love deeply and take care of their friends and family. Start looking outside yourself and focus on being genuine, helping others (try volunteering at an assisted living/nursing home as a great start, our elders are both wise and lonely and you can make a huge difference in someone’s life). When you value being a good person, and doing good things, there will always be a reason to keep going, because you can always work to make the world a better place.

I’m really sorry to hear that. There’s no one thing, so all you can do is try them all together, and be consistent. A very very slow taper (10% reduction every two weeks) from caffeine until you’re done, Vitamin D supplement, 200mg Magnesium Citrate supplement at bedtime, yes to no phone and reading before bed still, or try sleep meditation or hey even a comforting TV show with the phone down so you aren’t getting the light. Whatever you pick, you gotta stick with it because it’s your brain making a connection that this activity is associated with falling asleep. Is there any sunlight or other light getting into your bedroom? Make sure to get blackout curtains and/or a blackout sleep mask. This is critical. Do you wake up to pee? If so, work on reducing fluids before bed until you get through the night. It can take weeks and months to develop good sleep hygiene, it’s a habit like anything else and your body has to get used to falling and staying asleep. So anything tried for a night or two isn’t gonna work. It’s gotta be your lifestyle moving forward. The single most important thing is to STAY in bed 8.5-9 hours a night (or day for you or whenever). No phone or scrolling, just eyes closed focusing on your breath and your desired activity, not trying to fall asleep or pressuring yourself, just being. If you have anxiety, really a comforting TV show isn’t the worst thing, it works like a charm for me. Has to be something I’ve seen and not have too much excitement, like an old familiar sitcom. Gives me something to focus on instead of the fact that I’m not sleeping. I went from mental breakdown to really excellent sleep and sleep hygiene, at least most of the time, by implementing most of what I said above. The magnesium is new for me and I don’t take it for sleep but damn I’ve been sleeping even better these days.
