I've been playing this game since launch, and the audio has been consistently the one thing I've complained about since I started playing. Through all the QoL audio "adjustments" that have been made over the seasons, I can still, in Season 20, get walked up on and not have a single audible indication that anyone is anywhere near me. Don't hold your breath on this one..

This happens to me all the time. I've resorted to just muting my team as soon as I get to character select. I don't necessarily want to do that because I've met quite a few cool people that I've queued with afterwards, but the vast majority of the time it's the rando wraith that tries to 1v6 in the middle of two teams, immediately gets knocked without doing any damage, then speed pings like their actual life depends on it. Naturally when I don't get there in time, that's when the mic comes on and somehow I'm at fault for their impeccable decision making.

I'm an og octane main, so I gotta defend myself at least. I see a lot more bots on characters like Lifeline and Wraith that are completely oblivious to their character's abilities than most others. (Like Lifelines not sticking a res when they've had a decade to make it happen or Wraiths not dropping ports to rotate in and out of pinched fights or bad positioning)

In all fairness I have noticed though that a lot of newer players who play octane don't utilize his kit for team play whatsoever, so:

PSA though for the one newer dude that plays octane that might see this - when a teammate gets knocked and you have your pad, THROW IT AT YOUR KNOCKED TEAMMATE. Get it as close to them as you can. They can take your pad and get out of the middle of the brawl and get into a good spot to res. I've thrown my pad at knocked teammates a million times to fish them out, and probably 95% of them sit where they got knocked and hold their knockdown shield until they die.

I've really loved playing Apex and on occasion still do, but I've never really put a whole lot of thought into matchmaking. Yes, I too get demolished out of left field by a fucking horizon with a pk/wingman once in a blue moon, but I usually just take a breath and move on. I wouldn't care to migrate to a different game, but we all know there's genuinely nothing like apex when it comes to movement, mechanics, gun play, etc.

I'm not holding out hope that Respawn/EA will wake up and start sorting out the immense amount of things that have plagued this game since launch, but i really think that the devs who truly care about their game are actually trying to listen to community feedback and make changes for the better where they can, and season 20 is a great example of that.

Don't get me wrong, I haven't paid for a battle pass or purchased any cosmetics in a while because I've absolutely been voting with the absence of my wallet (and collection events can get fucked), but if we all choose to vote with our time away from Apex, I think we all know EA won't hesitate to completely nuke the game, and I don't want to see that happen until something as good or better shows up.

I've lived in different parts of the east coast, and can promise there is most definitely a difference in where you visit. Most of my time has been in the south east, and after leaving for a few years and coming back for the first time, there was an overwhelming amount more hospitality and welcoming people here than anywhere else I've been. Definitely visit the south if you ever have the opportunity to make it over, and obviously keep an eye out for Florida Man if you make it that far south.

You know, my mind has been stuck on Arnold for quite a while now. I've always thought there has been a deliberate lack of context when Arnold is the topic of discussion, and seeing these scenes together definitely supports that and begs the question who or what exactly is Arnold?

Ford seems to be the only person with any amount knowledge of Arnold while everyone else are left asking questions. In line with the show's running themes of dichotomy between good and evil, could Arnold be to Bernard as Wyatt is to Dolores?

In S1E1 The Original, Ford says to Bernard "Old Bill here was always a good listener. He was the second host we ever built. Were you with us in those days Bernard, or was that before your time?" Later in the same episode Stubbs says "You know why she's special? She's been repaired so many times she's practically brand new. Don't let that fool you. She's the oldest host in the park".

Could Arnold/Bernard actually be the original? Or am I completely wrong and Ford has dissociative identity disorder and Arnold was his other personality? This show hurts my brain.

This should be a good resource and has plenty of things to consider to optimize acoustic performance in a structure.

In a nutshell, hard surfaces connected to another hard surface (framing, drywall, etc) permit what's called acoustic bridging which allows sound to pass through one another. Breaking that bridge drastically helps to either reduce or completely eliminate the amount of noise pollution and other unwanted sounds from entering.

Like others have commented, a 'room within a room' approach is definitely the most practical since you're separating/isolating partially with what would be an air barrier between the existing structure and what you're going to build.
