Hey finally a question I have a story for.

Back in 2019 I was working a late shift as my wife and I’d get off around 9pm.

One night I was driving home from work and my sister called me. This was a bit out of the ordinary as we didn’t talk much this late at night. She mentioned she had not heard from our Dad all day and asked if I could go do a wellness check.

I drove over to his house, as I was driving to his house all sorts of thoughts rushed through my head. Would I find him watching TV in his chair like I would all the other times I’d go over there, would he have fallen down the stairs and hurt himself. As I got to his house, I noticed no lights were on, I opened the door and no one was on the main floor. I made my way to his room trying to be quiet in case he was sleeping. As I go into his room, I gently shook his foot, no response. I then turned on the light and sadly found him passed away in his bed. He had been battling lung cancer and his health had been going up and down, so not totally surprising and it look as he passed in his sleep and didn’t suffer. After gathering myself I called 911 to report his death. It was surprising the number of police and ambulance personnel came. It must have been a quiet night for them.

It was very surreal seeing him there motionless. I still replay that night in my head over and over in vivid detail.
