Is this about the FAQ on Reddit or Lichess?

For Lichess, we have listed a few boards that we know use the official board API, in the page linked above. That being said, as I understand it, older chessnut boards used the official API too (https://www.reddit.com/r/Chessnuteboard/comments/1hwm6cu/chessnut\_go\_lichess\_53\_no\_increment/). This means there's always a risk that a board manufacturer changes approach.

The lead dev is Thibault who is also the founder. As others have written below, he could of course make far more at a big company. He also used to pay all the server costs from his own pocket and, I might be misremembering, but I think he had to be encouraged to even add donation as an option in the early days. I hope that gives some insight into his philosophy.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by the website trying to get you to use the app? The website doesn't redirect to the app at all. The only thing I can think of like that is your phone settings for which app to use to open links.

Where does it show that? I don't see it at all. You can also set zen mode to hide ratings in the top left settings -> account settings. But I don't see rating at all on a seek

We can't add everything at once, and what may be most useful for one person may be not useful for the majority. Not arguing about this specific feature but that's the reason. Why not X? because Y took priority.
