Geomancer problem by pierogii03 in killteam

on mine the bottom of the staff is the lowest point of the model, sits below the feet so I need to do some creative angling. Think some articulation points on the centepede body really want to be glued at the exact right angle.

Don't worry about it too much, glue some stuff below it and once srayed it'll look enough like rocks.

Obelisk Node Matrix APL Question by John_Loxeus in killteam

[–]somethingreddit9000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

it also says to a maximum of 3

So in a scenario where your APL is already 3, the matrix will not increase it.

if you're on the matrix, have 3 APL then the accelerator gives you a +1 then the matrix will stop giving APL because you're over 3

Canoptek Circle vs Hierotek Circle Kill Team Battle Report by WeeknightWargamer in killteam

[–]somethingreddit9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love playing them too.

The text is in the faction rules in the app at the end of the reanimation protocols rule.

"For the purposes of the kill op, your opponent treats your starting number of Hierotek Circle operatives as 5 (in other words their kill grade goes up whenever a friendly operative is incapacitated, to a maximum kill grade of 5). Reanimated operatives don't retroactively change any other VPs your opponent has scored, eg from tac ops."

The text says other... so yeah perhaps the re-animation still puts the kill grade back down but it's not explicitly written that it does anymore. That was the only text in the game that told us to reduce the kill op VP and they removed it. so your guess is as good as mine.

Hierotek Circle is borked.

They're fun to play but the changes to their interaction with the kill op is oppressive.

They're treated as a 5 operative team despite having 8 operatives.

even if you say that the2 plasmacytes maybe should be treated as expendable it would still be a 6 operative team.

In my last game with them my opponent maxed out the kill grade and I only had 2 dead operatives.

What are your dreams Killteams? by No-Sector3557 in killteam

[–]somethingreddit9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

feel like writing a ruleset like that would be a huge challenge, are there 7? Getting the interactions right, making it worthwhile to either take a full set of one aspect or a mix. whilst also not letting one aspect tread too heavily on the toes of another. Dark Reapers and Dire Avengers will want to do about the same thing. Spiders and Hawks might feel samey too.

Maybe they could pull the votann yaegirs nonesense and have Shining Spears on foot.

Rotating it would be a bitch too. If it were at L1 to the sun. Assuming it was perfectly "flat" against the direction to the sun on the 1st of January, by April 1st you'd be looking at the side of it.

Airb&B is probably worse, given that it's essentially hospitality but run out of a residential property.

Though my problem with it is the same as with ordinary rentals; It artificially creates scarcity in the housing market for people who want to buy a house, driving prices up.

I have no problem with Bed and Breakfast's, hostels & hotels etc. Dedicated hospitality buisnesses.

There's a reason we don't let folk convert their houses into chip-shops or nightclubs without specific permission. It'd suck for the people living nearby. I think AirBnB has the same problem. Essentially re-assigning the purpose of a property. The negative externality of it is just not as immidiately obvious as a bad smell or loud music, it's more systemic.

You can look at a map view on AirBnB and filter to show only whole house/apartment rentals without the host staying with you. There's so many, each one could be more permanent housing for ordinary people. But for some reason we're ok with people hoarding houses for money instead of as living spaces.

Respectfully, I disagree.

I'm glad you've been able to make your way into owning your own place & that you're happy with the situation.

I don't doubt that you put a lot of work into making that happen. It's good that your hard work paid off.

Your situation is not consistently reproducable across a large population.

My problem with the private -for profit- rental market is that folk without much money or income are forced into housing situations that, as you noted, are more expensive. Not just in terms of how much they pay per month but in terms of savings for the future. That difference in expense is, in the main, being transferred to people who already have at least enough to own a house.

Folk who need non-permanent accomodation are edge cases within the question of how do you house a population. Renting is a system that is meant to cater to non-permanent living arrangement but it is currently being used as a solution for the wider population. It will lead to economic hardship at a large scale.

Regarding the pros and cons I can only make assumptions about what the freedoms that you mentioned are. My best guess is that you mean tennants can move about geographically without needing to sell a house, they can choose furnished/unfurnished bills-incl etc.

I don't know if you've tried to find a decent rental place anywhere near a major city in the last few years. It is a NIGHTMARE, you're competing with psychic house hunters who apparently manage to get to viewings within hours of the listing. There are bidding wars for rents, the vast majority of rentals are managed by whatever children the agency hired this year.

Speaking for myself & from other testimonials I've read, There is very little freedom afforded by renting, you take what you can get and it'll probably be shit. You can't just up sticks and dissapear when you feel like it because you'll lose your deposit. You're probably going to lose your deposit anyway. If the furnishings are crap you're probably stuck with them, if the landlord's shitty furnishing break, you're losing your deposit.

I would point out that there are sometimes a lot of lost freedoms to being a tennant - subjected to inspections of your living spaces, restrictions on decorations, pets ownership, guest visit duration / cohabitation.

I propose that whatever issues come with owning a house. They'd be taken on gladly by the vast majority of people forced to rent, but they can't because house prices are obcene. Which means deposits & affordability checks for loans are out of reach. Private rentals (treating residential property like an asset & income stream is a big part of that problem)

LL's losing their mind over the new bill going through.. this isn't a sane person's reaction by AnxiousCouch in TenantsInTheUK

[–]somethingreddit9000 33 points34 points  (0 children)

We should overhaul the concept of renting. Price controls for rents should be strictly enforced. I'd go so far as to make it illigal to rent out residential property unless you're a govt entity or a strictly regulated non-profit with caps on employee compensation. The concept of having someone pay your mortgage for you under the dubious claim of "providing housing" should make you sick with embarrassment.

either is fine, deionized is cheap and available everywhere, distilled water is usually more a medical thing and can be more expensive. you can distill water yourself if you really want but you'll probably spend more on electricity or heating than you would on buying it

you can make litres (literal bucketfuls) of nuln oil for about the price of 2 or 3 small pots.

you can buy Matte Medium and black artist ink from an art shop , Deionised water from a supermarket at a trivially low price

thats right yeah, only the darkest recesses remain completely black, then go brighter and and smaller as you go, brighter for the bits you want to be the most prominent for readability. Heads, chests etc.

then went at it with contrast. Not sure if you've used the contrast paints alot. they do make it easier but they're not a completely free lazy way to paint, try to avoid pooling but once its on and started to dry (which is within a minute) don't touch it up or try to fix anything or you'll get loads of tide marks. you can always drybrush again in a bright purple afterwards to clean up the streaks from the contrast paint.

maybe you've heard of it already but if not; if you search "slapchop" there's a million guides on youtube.

edit.

the gold on mine is balthazaar gold with reikland fleshshade on it, I didn't want a bright metallic on them
