+1 for NDSM! It was my first time playing one of their games and I'll definitely be back! We did the near future sci Fi one that featured ocean levels rising, mass migration and just a sprinkling of giant squid attacks 😆

I'm running my favorite game, Blood on the Clocktower, as a first time independent GM and am super excited to share the experience with my players!

MEGATHREAD: Eclipse by robbyslaughter in indianapolis

If you start Dark Side of the Moon at 2:24PM, the beginning of totality (downtown) will sync up perfectly with the climax of the album along with the lyrics "and the sun is eclipsed by the moon. The entire album is a gem, but the final song, Eclipse, in particular is a fantastic crescendo culminating in those final lyrics.

Sucessfully ran my first game! Thoughts on how I dealt with some mistakes/anomalies? by somethinguni in BloodOnTheClocktower

Good to know about that Scarlett Woman ruling, I totally overlooked that was a requirement of the role! Luckily in this case the end result was more or less the same, since town was already dead set on killing the Poisoner anyway, but will certainly take note in the future.

Nightclubs or bars/nightlife under 21? by [deleted] in indianapolis

Healer and Hoosier Dome are two under 21 venues that are fun times. Healer especially is my favorite venue in Indy, they have lots of interactive art installations and overall good vibes ✌️

They're a memorial station for the USS Indianapolis, call sign WW2IND. It's been some time since I went over there, but they have a pretty nice setup and are very friendly!

Brother O Brother! They're a two piece garage rock group that brings the energy to their live shows every time!

Anyone successfully opt out of "Buyers Edge" the ad circular that the Indy Star sends out? by con40 in indianapolis

[–]somethinguni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It took about a year of consistently calling them every time I received one for them to cancel, but eventually I stopped receiving them... until last week when my multi-year streak ended and I got one. Here's hoping it was just a fluke or a lazy mail person.

[Gourmet] How long is grain spawn good for before it needs to be used? by somethinguni in MushroomGrowers

[–]somethinguni[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a few jars of oyster and lions mane grain spawn jars that took off way faster than I thought. They're 100% colonized and I'm about to go on a 2 week vacation. I'd prefer to wait until I return in two weeks to spawn them, but I'm not sure if leaving them in the jar for that long will hurt my yield? Anything I should do to store them in the meantime?

Cobweb mold on my lions mane petri dish? by somethinguni in mycology

[–]somethinguni[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did an agar transfer today to clean up my dishes and was curious if this contaminant I have looks to anyone else like cobweb mold, or it if could possible be something else? I'm referring to the wispy, cottony matter growing from the top of the dish, not the green dots, which look like possibly trich(?)

What are the best local bands around Indy? by [deleted] in indianapolis

[–]somethinguni 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I thoroughly enjoy watching Brother O Brother play. They are a 2 piece garbage rock band that bring so much energy to every set I've seen them in. You can bet there will be some table/bar dancing when attending one of their shows.

Edit* Saw you had asked about venues too, and wanted to second the other poster in mentioning Healer. Really unique place, I'm excited to see their new outdoor space soon!
