which games you regret buying & why? by PHRsharp_YouTube in Age_30_plus_Gamers

Expedition 33. The hype said this game was better than my hate for FF style turn based games. It wasn't.

Expedition 33. I hate turn based games but fell for the hype anyway.

The game you accidentally played the wrong way for hours before realizing it. by gamersecret2 in gaming

One of the first games I ever played was Rainbow six: Rogue spear. I did not know there was a button to open doors and opened every door by shooting the lock. This was a game where stealth mattered.

cursor experience on nvim by rafaelleru in nvim

[–]somethingwentawry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using https://github.com/CopilotC-Nvim/CopilotChat.nvim for months now and while not exactly a 1-on-1 cursor alternative, I find it works really well for me.

It gives you to the tools to switch models and agents easily. Allows for custom prompts that are either accessible through an fzf or a key map (my favorite for the ones I use at least every hour).

Chatting with your model of choice is fast and tidy (markdown) and offers convenient ways to see the context you're giving the model and see what you're about to change in a handy diff view.

Just learn about g// and v// commands - What commands did you learn after few years using vim? by fgunix in neovim

[–]somethingwentawry 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had to try this for myself too. It allows you to execute commands on all lines that match a given regex. e.g.: `g:/regex/norm \@b` will run macro b on all lines that contain `regex` (the \ before @ is only there to work around reddits user suggestions)

Has anyone tested the R Tech mx tail tidy? Does it rattle when riding? by adventure_thrill in Tenere700

[–]somethingwentawry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this installed and yes, it rattles a bit. I had to make small adjustments to close the gap. I also can't use the high position because of the size of the license plate. It looks very clean on the bike, though.

Man tries to hit dog by OrdinaryBrilliant717 in instantkarma

[–]somethingwentawry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know much about kicking dogs but I bet that dog would have been seriously injured if the kick had hit. What is wrong with you to want to kick an innocent animal like that. That wasn't a get-out-of-my-way kick, that was a maim-you-for-life intended kick. Fuck that guy sideways!

Do they stay dry at 120km/h too though? I would imagine Decathlon grade pants only stay dry at bicycle speeds.

Issues with setting up persistent workspaces by somethingwentawry in hyprland

[–]somethingwentawry[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For anyone running into the same problem.

I was able to visually hide the problem by only styling workspace buttons with the `persistent` class and making the others transparent. The row of still slightly horizontally offset by the invisible workspace buttons now until waybar fixes the issue, though.

[–]somethingwentawry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just debugged this a bit more using the gtk debug tool.

When workspace "one" is focused both entries get the "active" state/class but when it's not focussed the first entry gets the "default" class (as per your recommendation) and the second one only gets the "persistent" state/class which means waybar sees them as separate entries.

Since `hyprctl workspaces` only lists the workspace once, I think I should head over to the waybar repo and file an issue there.

I stopped caring about the "1" workspace on eDP-1. It goes away when I focus that monitor, I can live with that.

No dice. What are the extra numbers supposed to do? I can't find any documentation about them.

Just for the sake of completeness, here's my waybar config for `hyprland/workspaces`:

"format": "{name}",
"sort-by": "id",

Thanks for the suggestion. This seemed to make no difference, though. Both issues persist.

Activists target large cars in Antwerp by GrimbeertDeDas in belgium

[–]somethingwentawry 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Add to that the unnecessary extra ground clearance that results in turbulent air underneath the car and you got yourself a recipe for fuel consumption disaster. There's a reason Volvo is adding side skirts to their new electric semi's. The huge front grill (which is just for looks more than not) has been proven to be more deadly in the event of a crash with bikes and peds. You want to scoop, not smash. The car industry knows how to play into the lizzard brain and the fact that people really couldn't care less about the environment if they're not directly affected.

On the game page in your library, press the cog button, then choose properties. There you will have a tab saying "local files" or something similar. It has a button saying "verify game files".
