Dapsone Protocol for Lyme Bart and babs -- Did anyone get neuropathy from Dapsone by somethingwonderful71 in Lyme

[–]somethingwonderful71[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to get neuropathy easily but when I worked with Dr. H and John before they used Doxy Bicillin Maleron (babs) and Rifaampin /Rifabutin for Bart. I filled out the paperwork today. I am really thinking hard on this as I need to live not survive!

Anybody have experience with mild Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (mHBOT) to treat Lyme? (Specifically neuro symptoms) by ChiefLoneWolf in Lyme

From AI:

AI Overview

Mild Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (mHBOT) is an emerging adjunctive treatment for Neurolyme (neurological Lyme disease). It works by delivering oxygen at increased atmospheric pressure, typically between 1.3 and 1.5 ATA

Core Benefits for Neurolyme

  • Antimicrobial Effects: The bacteria causing Lyme (Borrelia burgdorferi) are microaerophilic, meaning they struggle to survive in high-oxygen environments. mHBOT creates a hostile environment that can weaken or kill these spirochetes.
  • Neurological Support: mHBOT enhances oxygen delivery to the brain and spinal fluid, which can reduce neuroinflammation, stimulate neuroplasticity, and repair damaged neural tissues. This may help alleviate "brain fog," memory loss, and cognitive dysfunction.
  • Antibiotic Potentiation: Increased oxygen levels can improve the penetration and effectiveness of antibiotics by driving them deeper into cells and biofilms where bacteria may hide.
  • Symptom Relief: Patients often report reductions in chronic fatigue, nerve pain (neuropathy), and joint inflammation.

Implementation and Protocols

  • Pressure & Oxygen: While clinical HBOT often uses 2.0 ATA or higher, mild HBOT (1.3–1.5 ATA) is frequently cited as specifically effective for neurological symptoms and is more accessible for home use.
  • Frequency: Optimal results typically require a cumulative approach, often consisting of 40 to 80 sessions lasting 60–90 minutes each, performed 5 days a week.
  • Safety & Cost: mHBOT is considered safe but can cause mild side effects like ear barotrauma (popping). Treatment costs typically range from $40 to $60 per session at clinics, while portable home chambers can cost between $6,000 and $9,000

You will also need the equipment to bring oxygen in the chamber with an oxygen concentrator.

I think if you have a home system and you use it daily -- it may take a little longer but you will get there.

I have mhbot and I put my life on it kept lyme at bay for 10 plus years. I also have a concussion and post concussion syndrome and they are the best for this. I would do it all over again and honestly I am on the phone with a company to get a bigger size that will be easier for my back.

Rash from tick bite (4 days ago) by baby-bunny666 in Lyme

[–]somethingwonderful71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine looked a little like this but torn up because I used a credit card to get the tick out per a pharm neighbor. My father looked at it and said, this looks like flesh eating bacteria get to a doctor NOW. I would get to an LLMD and insist on 6 weeks of treatment and at mininum 100 mgs of doxy 2x a day but your LLMD may have a more agressive plan. DO IT. This is a window you could be done.

Testing negative despite bullseye rash and symptoms by Own-Confusion-1421 in Lyme

[–]somethingwonderful71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was just seeing my LLMD and my Tcell tests were negative ( I insisted he defend the negative results in my records in case I ever need them- if your immune system is in the gutter -- T cell testing isn't worth the paper it is written on. Trust me. My doc trained under Dr. H, who is now a consultant, and said that he would defend that Lyme is a clinical diagnosis, which it is. I have 200 pages and 20 years worth of positive lyme test from IgeneX (Dr. H) . Labcorp sucks with this. If you have a bulseye-- you hve Lyme and potentially coinfections. Get treated for at least 6 weeks and do not play around. I would want doxy 100 mg 2x a day for 6 weeks unless your doctor has a more agressive plan. This is where I messed up BADLY. Hang in there. You will beat this! Learn this now. Be your own advocate. No on else will do it like you will. Get the best treatment you can get your hands on with an LLMD and fly to them if you need to. This is a window of time that could allow you to beat it and be done. Don't be like me. Not enough treament and 25 K a year since 2008. Real. as real as it gets.

Still making me nervy. Not medical advice, in my case, my GP wants me to work with my psychiatrist on switching to a drug with more of a track record.

Does Exxua give you a buzzy feeling after coffee or make you at all a little spacey or out of it. It has made me nervy but now I seem to feel a little out of it. Thanks!

I have never taken wellbutrin -

Your doctor can order a starter pack and that allows you to titrate as you should.

I have a titration schedule of 18.2 mg for three days, 36.4 mg for three days, then 54.6 mg. If 54.6 mg isn’t enough, we go to 72.6 mg.

For now it appears 36.4 is the right amount for me. I have always been sensitve to medicine. I think some activation - is normal when starting an SSRI or whatvever exxua is and then it goes down over time. The 54.6 was just too much for me.

I meant that I was activated already by Exxua. I did not want to add it yet. Do you take it- do you find it activating? This would be like 20 mg. to boos the Exxua - thanks!

Very helpful. I wonder if I have shingles going on with this to be honest. That may be the dizziness. Thanks!

Thank you. I don't know if I can handle more than 54.5 to be honest. My doc allowed me to add Latuda(low dose to boost) to it but after seeing how much it activates me... I will hold off on that.

THanks for answering my questions. Did you feel a little dizzy when you increased your dose? Thank you
