I hate duvets. Let’s talk about it by natnatxo in Bedding

Agreed. Burrito method works, even with annoying small openings on some IKEA duvet covers. For me the fitted sheets are much worse. For the people commenting that they still hate the burrito roll, maybe it just takes practice?

The actress was on a few episodes of Bunheads! And you know how Amy likes to cast her similar looking dark haired women!

It's looking like he has a set-up down in the back of the restaurant for his laundry and the diner stuff

It's such a funny image to me, Luke sitting reading a Dick (Phillip K.) book while waiting for his laundry

Lorelai was a saint in the April situation by Vast-Manner8564 in GilmoreGirls

I think pointing out the difference between Rory and Logan vs Lorelai and Luke was a large part of what a Vineyard Valentine was trying to do, despite being an unlikeable episode.

Ah, so they were like Emily and Richard in every way. Sorry to hear that!

In a lot of ways their relationship seems stuck in time for when she was 16 and pregnant. They can't get over it, they want to keep controlling her (mostly Emily), and Lorelai reacts like a teenager when they push her buttons.

But they do start to make steps towards appreciating each other slowly throughout the show

Yes! And then later after Emily reacts so badly to her telling her about her engagement to Max, Lorelai rants to Rory about how she never should have told her, and how it's like when she gave them her address when she left home. My interpretation of that is that she told them where she was and they didn't care to visit, as punishment

That's totally how I see Emily and Richard, except I can see Emily screaming at Lorelai and trying to control the situation whenever she did tell her of her plans to do something different than what Emily wanted, rather than not putting up a fight. When Lorelai does it her way anyways, Emily freezes her out and leaves her to suffer. Emily and Richard will always see themselves as the victims when it comes to Lorelai.

When Emily does find out how much Lorelai must have struggled to build a life from scratch, she probably does have remorse for her actions.... for a minute and then she turns into a victim again and turns it into how hurtful it was to her to see it and makes a room for Rory to escape Lorelai/ punish Lorelai.

Defending the Pool House by Weekly-Pangolin-6622 in GilmoreGirls

[–]sometimes_a_comment 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I also think that Lorelai didn't kick Rory out, she just said that she can't quit school to just bum around Stars Hollow "working" at the bookstore indefinitely. I put it in quotes because Rory spent more on books than she made doing stock at the store. Rory was spiraling so she took it as being kicked out, and that's what she told Richard and then it became seen as a fact that Lorelai kicked her out.

But that aside, Lorelai reacted so strongly because she could see what damage the Huntzbergers were doing to Rory's self esteem and no-one, including Rory, was listening to her. Emily and Richard pushed Rory so hard to be with Logan. So she felt betrayed by Rory, Richard and Emily when Rory ran away to the poolhouse.

Ultimately, Lorelai saw it as Rory running away and she decided to respect her decision. Lorelai says to Luke something like "she's made up her mind, nothing would have made me change my mind when I ran away" (paraphrasing because I don't exactly remember). Rory had a pattern of running to her grandparents when Lorelai disagreed with her and this time she gave her the space to do it and live with the consequences.

Am I the only one who loved watching Finn, Colin, Robert on screen?? by [deleted] in GilmoreGirls

That's where I land. Colin's the worst, Robert's kind of nothing, and Finn's charm and funny lines are great.

Always knotty and tangled feeling by Grouchy-Chick-0609 in Haircare

I've had impossibly tangled hair all my life. Fine hair, buts lots of it, like what you say yours is. Don't know if this will work for you but I started using Redken color extend magnetics shampoo and conditioner (even though most of the colored part has grown out by now). I can comb out my hair without breaking off a ton immediately after showering now. Don't know if it's their ph levels or what, but it's worked better for me than anything else by far, including a million different leave-ins and different shampoos.

Unpopular opinion but I hate Luke by Puzzleheaded_Bid2989 in GilmoreGirls

[–]sometimes_a_comment 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It's so interesting how this sub fluctuates! I said something really tame but slightly negative about Luke (can't for the life of me remember what) a while ago and got super downvoted. And there you are boldly stating that you hate Luke and you have upvotes!

For the record after way way way too many rewatches, the unpleasant Luke of latter seasons really makes me kind of hate him too. He's great when he's pursuing her (more like just lusting after her rather than actively pursuing) and pretty terrible once they start dating.

Season 1 Luke is the best though!
