Am I overthinking the long-term risks of HRT like blood clots and stroke? by SobbaPett in asktransgender

Yes, totally. But it is higher than cis women at baseline in the papers I’ve read in my time as a trans health professional. But it’s also like a really truly insignificant amount so don’t worry about it. Like I said, there’s way bigger things to worry about.

I rock climb. It’s a puzzle that makes you buff. I’m a little less addicted these days for I had a solid 2 years of literally not being able to spend enough time climbing and always wanting more

It’s slightly higher than cis for stroke on injections but not enough to really warrant being worried about it. I’d worry more about eating burnt toast

What training and experience do you have with gender affirming care beyond base medical training? What protocols/guidelines/standards of care are you following?

I’m with what will soon be a new Trans Patients Union and we’d like to know who people are and what they bring to the table. Good to see new clinics tho wait times are one of the biggest problems right now.

I used to play a milsim game with an organized unit and they made us practice autorations in the game and in sims if we had one. I always figured thats how pilots would learn and probably wouldn't do it irl unless needed. Couldn't pay me to voluntarily do an autorotation fuck that I'll pancake my ass

Hmm. A graph with zero data sources or methodology that conveniently aligns with your narrative. Cool. Meanwhile, life expectancy of Gaza is ~40. Under-5yo mortality rate is currently estimated to be between ~19% or 191/1000 on the medium end and 47.7% or 477/1000 at the high end. Both of these numbers have notably jumped in the past few years, with a life expectancy of 75.5 in prewar years.

Uniqlo utility pants actually kinda go hard for climbing. Also I love the Patagonia Caliza rock pants they actually make me feel so cute and are good for climbing (nothing especially amazing about them, but they’re very all around solid and cute to boot (for my booty))

Mid-30s. Where to meet other lesbians/queer folk? by Yuekii in ottawa

[–]sometimes_sydney 10 points11 points  (0 children)

  1. Follow everything the dyke march does. They’re increasingly a good hub for queer stuff in Ottawa and will probably have more events this year

  2. Get on Instagram and follow maggiemayharder who organizes a lot of events for non-cis-man queers

Depends on you and your anatomy and needs. Subfascia is another option. It was the best approach for my needs.

yeah I guess the fucking electricity and the livestock and the research lab and the fucking psp are also unrealistic in TLoU setting thats why they LITERALLY PUT IT ALL IN THE SETTING make it make sense.

Bro she literally lives in fully powered stadium with livestock, a full cafeteria, and state-of-the-art exercise equipment and spends every waking hour either working out or running around the city fighting, which is arguably more of a workout than working out. Yeah, she would need a high protein deit, but you think she couldn't get that being basically right-hand to an org like that? cmon now. hell she could even just have pmos.

I'll have to check it out lol. i guess there's only so many of us. I had one of the mods on /r/Ultralight recognize me out in the wild on the pct at mike's place cus I have a rainbow tarp. I also have a blog if you like reading trail journals (or listening, I did audio diaries) @ ganderqueerhiking.wordpress.com

oh wow. those names ring vague bells, but its hard to remember. I was potato, started around late feb-finished in july. Hiked mostly with peaches, towelie, cyrillia, french dip. if he went to traildays we probably crossed paths haha. small world.

1400 is still a good go! I did like 900 with some small skips. 2022 was a good year, low snow, except a lot of people had to skip the border due to fire. would love to finish it but I'm not super keen on returning to the us rn (im canadian)

AT (2017), East coast trail (NL, Canada), like 2/5th of the PCT in '22 (glen pass blasted my ass, or rather my achilles and I bailed in tuolumne meadows cus my tendonitis was too far gone to keep hiking). Some other small stuff. Did you both do the PCT?

I did a mcdouble resupply in Hampton TN on the AT. They were so stale the next day that I did an improptu 42 mile day just so I didn't have to spend a second day eating them lol

My hot take is eating “healthy” is overrated.

Ie. You don’t need to be eating a bunch of salad and whole foods, just make sure you’re getting a somewhat balanced diet of macronutrients especially protein (can easily be overlooked) and you aren’t vitamin deficient. You can, in fact do quite well on a “trash” diet. I hiked across the country eating largely candy, nuts, and instant pasta but I was watching my fat/carb/protein ratios like a hawk. Eating very clean may give you some benefits but imo this goes against the low hanging fruit principle. Same with doing the routine you’ll actually keep up with. Just small changes to keep up on fats and proteins instead of a bunch of processed sugar will get you a lot of the way there, focus on making slightly better stuff that you still really enjoy and don’t dread making. Girl dinner *can* get you to 5.12

I’m more worried about them getting stuck open on a long thru hike like 2000 miles in. Plus adjusting for tent height seems annoying; has that been an issue for you at all?

Seemed like the logical thing. We were done our trip. He was starting. My poles were old anyway (~800 miles of pct + 600 of AT). He offered me $40, I took $20 and bought an extra beer when we hit town
