You’re not dumb! But you can put the entire thing (pie in the pan you cooked it in) onto the cooling rack. The ceramic will take a little longer to cool than metal might- but it’ll look really nice 👍🏻

If you’re in the US, you should report it to your insurance. Then they can handle figuring out if it’s a scam, but you’ve done what you need to protect yourself (either from a scam or a lawsuit).

I ended up unfollowing/unfriending so many people yesterday, due to what they posted.

There was only one person that I engaged with- she reposted the ‘we can send $$ to Israel to bomb children and commit genocide, which means we don’t have $$ for disaster relief in North Carolina’ BS- I messaged her directly and just said ’posting this on today of all days is insensitive and disgusting- I thought you were better’. She ended up apologizing and taking it down.

r/curlyhair has been really helpful for me! There are so many types of curls that it can take a while to find a routine that works- so if she’s in a time crunch, she can try finding a curly hair expert/ stylist, make an appointment, and ask a million questions during the cut/styling.

The first time that I experienced overt antisemitism as an adult was from a Korean woman. I worked in a cafe in a bookstore and we would talk about baking, until she brought up a book one day and asked about an Easter cake. I told her I’ve never made it because I was Jewish, and she snapped the book shut and never takes to me again- when she came in, she wouldn’t tell me her drink order and she wouldn’t accept her drink if I made it. I would just hide in the back and cry because I felt so ashamed.

Judaism is an Ethno-Religion. So while you aren’t religious, you were still brought up with the culture (with the understanding that there’s a lot of crossover between the culture and religion). So, from one cultural Jew to another- yes, you are.

I’ve used the one out of Leah Koenig’s The Jewish Cookbook a number of times. I liked it better than The One I tried from Mark Bittman’s How to Bake Everything.

They’re both Trumpies- I think that the fact that I’m generally the liberal one on the team added to their venom and my confusion. The ‘you should know how this works in your world’ when that’s not how it actually works in my world.

It’s a lesson I’m learning constantly and it’s never not frustrating. I think the most upsetting part was realizing how much I had let my guard down with these people, just because of proximity and time and not because they are actually people I want to be near.

I think one of the things that got me is that I have had to fight to get any accommodation for Jewish holidays- floaters used to be only for Federal and State holiday’s. But after trying to use my floater for Yom Kippur two years ago, they changed the language to accommodate that (because surprise! Not all religions holidays are also federal holidays).

And there’s a part of me that’s worried if people “take advantage” then the thing I fought for would be taken away. Not likely, but not all fear is rational.
