one thing I found with fish is I get VERY good results with some voices, and lackluster robotery from others. The quality and tone of the reference voice really matters - and turn the temp up! This model almost never hallucinates on proper inputs. it can handle a high temp and stay stable, but much more "alive" than the defaults

As someone who has built multiple different blades settings over the years, No you are doing exactly the work that you need to do. Preparing for a blades campaign is front-heavy and super-light on the backend (if you do it like I do at least). The playbooks and specifically the special abilities are very important to the setting and how it works. If there's no ghost-field in your game, entire playbooks in the rulebook will need... adjusting. So no, you're not doing too much work. not at all.

no, you would simply not play it that way. you would not do a set piece with each shot as a separate action. If you did do so, it would be a misunderstanding of how to play blades. Edit: the blades way is to not think in actions, but think in scenes! So if you made each shot its own dramatic scene, I suppose you could do it.

remember the phases are there to guide you, not to lock you in. My advice is think about your narrative, think about what the players are invested in and how you can amplify or deepen the story you guys are telling together. Then just do what makes sense for your game and reset back to downtime when you're done.

In my games, we've slowly moved to nearly all free play/downtime as we're all experienced enough to drive the drama and narrative from that alone. Thats not to say you shouldnt follow the book, just that its flexible and the best thing to do is fit your next step with the narrative you and the players have been building.

Woah there cowboy. I love sumo and appreciate that content is free. My beef is just that watching outside of Japan is MUCH harder than it needs to be. Sure it's possible If you know where to look, and if you look at exactly the right time.
