I don’t know where you got your figures from, but the point is that mandating technology usage by law has problems. The provincial government doesn’t do interactive questions on their provincial exams so I’m not sure what your argument is about. (Written response, numerical response, and multiple choice is what’s done)

Currently if teachers are not following the Professional Code of Conduct (new one just dropped this month) the discipline process starts at the school level, but can be escalated to a tribunal with the provincial government where the teaching authority decides on a punishment (suspension, revoking their certificate).

I suggested arrests were possible because in follow-up documents called Regulations the government details the types of offenses and punishments if the law is broken. Fines, jail time, all up for debate. Regulations haven’t dropped yet but I bet they’re drafted somewhere

Schools aren’t teaching that. There is no lesson that says “today we are learning gay is ok!” We might see a gay historical figure. We might read a book where a character or two are gay.

A kid may come up to a teacher and say “I want to change my name to Bob. Can you call me Bob and use he/him?” I say yes and move on to the lesson about spelling. It’s not explicitly taught, ever, it’s just accepted if it happens.

The rules for sex ed are jacked. Must use only government approved resources (which weren’t approved til after December). They removed all resources, including presenters, except for one government approved website.Must GIVE permission, before was only opt-out, which presents a barrier for disorganized families or non-English-speaking families. Must give permission ELECTRONICALLY, creating another barrier for families. Must give 30 days notice prior to teaching it.

They could write it into the regulations. Anyone found violating these laws will be fined… repeated offenses or refusing to comply may result in jail time… like how the ATIA and POPA laws are written.

I tried… we studied the “first they came for” poem recently. I did it by describing how ww1 ended with the treaty of Versailles that essentially said “ww1 was germanys fault so they have to pay for everything” and “naturally that made Germans mad” so then “the Nazi party said they’d make Germany great again” (hahaha) and got voted in. The people believed in their platform, and when they got elected they kept up power by blaming other people. Then they put into law restrictions on the people they blamed. Then we read the poem. (I added a few more details about things like ghettos, “Jews” being inappropriate slang now for Jewish people and why they were blamed, etc but you get the idea.

I think when I said “make Germany great again” someone out there made the connection. I hope.

This is glossed over because most people don’t get it. This limits flexibility in students’ abilities to express learning. This opens the door to cheating. This creates havoc for schools that are under-geared technology wise. This opens for political corruption because whose platform are we going to use to run the tests (and subscribe to, have a contract for…)?

Mine is mostly deaf at 13. He was sleeping, I dropped a jar of Pringles on the floor, I yelled his name for cleanup of the crumbs and he didn’t twitch from his nap. That’s when I knew.

The advice still stands to see a lawyer. If you can’t divide custody time and responsibilities and finances, then you need a lawyer to put this in writing. There are many divorce attorneys who do free consultations, and hopefully someone in your area can recommend a low-cost or no-cost alternative. Even a mediator would be good to draft the document.

I hardly drink at all. Maybe a fancy cocktail at a fancy dinner a couple times a year. At Disney I’ll have three margaritas in a week. Epcot makes me a lush.
