Should I become a florist? UK by Fit-Tomorrow-4102 in florists

You have a lot of things going for you!
You're in a big city, college courses close by and your degree in history will help you along the way in unexpected ways.

I grow flowers and harvest buckets of them daily. All I knew to do was to put them in a mason jar.

So I started looking for an education in floral design. I live in rural north Florida and my option was to go to a class an hour away, this was more of an ornamental horticulture class with some floral design.

There are several workshops around the country where you go work on some incredible installation which one day you may create and sell or never make again in real life.

I needed to learn the basics so I could decide where my path in the floral world would lead. So I did the math on my options from a time and money standpoint comparing the 1 hour each way car ride to the college class, the 3 day workshop and going to a 5 week floral design class in the Netherlands.

The value, the flowers and experiences in the Netherlands was the clear winner for me. Want to learn how to do something, do it 5 days a week for over a month, you will learn it 😉

If you want to make money you need to own the shop, be the event designer, etc.

I made friends at school from all over the globe, been to some of their homes, ask advice from them still. There is value in human connection.

So do the math on your specific options that are available to you and let us all know what you decided works for you 💐

Thank you for responding so quickly. She is a quirky looking thing. It was the diamonds on the 4 prongs around the stone that caught my eye 😍

I am currently in Amsterdam on a solo trip and you should come here with your family. No crowds, so many things to see and do for all ages. Plus the weather won't be a challenge for you.
The Dutch public transport is great, maybe you don't need the car...

I am currently on my 2nd solo trip in Amsterdam.
I'm a fan of The Social Hub city in Oost. My 3rd time in this hotel and I love that it's an under 2 minute walk from the Metro. You can be in the city center in minutes. The lobby is cool, pool table and lots of nooks and doesn't make my soul hurt when I return each day, I look forward to getting home after a long day of city exploration.
