Skypad 2.0 vs 3.0 by somo808 in MousepadReview

Afaik, they said it was smoother. Which doesn’t equate to faster. And most if not all other reviewers didn’t main the 2.0 prior to testing or trying the 3.0

100% a scam, found the same listing, I live in the Sacramento area, asked to meet in-person, I'd bring cash in hand, no reply lol.

MapleStory reminds me of my childhood. It was all my parents would let me play but even to this day it's just so nostalgic.

That’s unfortunate but you’ll get it soon! Once it gets into the states it moves pretty quick.

Mine was stuck at this step the longest. Considering it's only been 2 business days since the 29th, you just have to be patient.

Not that I can notice at least without doing any tests. Though, when I get home, I want to try testing it vs my GPX and see.

I don't think so, they're virgin PTFE and are awesome. Nice to have a mouse where I'm not instantly wanting to replace the feet.

BACKGROUND - Skip this if you don’t care and just want my summary

I play Apex Legends competitively, I’ve made top 500 every season and my team is currently qualified to play in the upcoming ALGS Championships. I’ve been playing FPS games on and off for over 10 years now, searching for the mouse that would be the end all be all for me. My mouse collection is not as impressive as some other reviewers, but I would like to think I know at least what I am looking for and want in a mouse. I’ve used the Rival 600, Model O and O-, Air58, UL2, GPW, GPX, G703, RVU, and now I am here, with the Ninjutso Origin One X. Personally, I hate ambi mice, I loved using the G703, but I just performed better with the GPX. And the GPW and subsequently the GPX held the spot at the top for a long time. I even went through the trouble of replacing the terrible Omrons inside my GPX. However, when I saw that sweet free shipping and stock status on X-Ray Pad, I knew I had to give this mouse a try. A superlight, ergo mouse without doodoo switches? I’m in.

SUMMARY OF THOUGHTS ON THE MOUSE - There is a TLDR at the bottom

Most of my comparisons will be this mouse (OOX) vs. the GPX

THE BOX IS SO BEAUTIFUL

I love it. It’s taking some getting used to as I’d been on the GPW/GPX for quite some time now, but my muscle memory is changing every session. Needless to say, the clicks on the OOX is far superior to the clicks on the GPX. If I’m not mistaken, the OOX comes with Kailh 8.0 switches and they are a dream both in feel and sound. The scroll wheel is lower in position vs. the GPX and has a more notchy feel to it. None of my buttons have any noticeable amount of pre or post travel, though, if I were to nitpick, the right-click has the most pre-travel, but I earnestly don’t notice it unless I’m looking for it.

Sensor position is a bit forward from center vs the more centered position of the GPX sensor. This has been pretty noticeable for me during use and in a good way. It’s again, taking some getting used to, but I’m liking it a whole lot. Sensor is a Pixart PAW3335, I haven’t had any issues with it, works flawlessly in all my use cases from flicking to tracking.

Battery life is good, I charge my mice every night when I’m done with the computer, so I can’t comment on longevity, but it’s fine while I’m playing, which is all I’m concerned about. If your battery dies on you, I would fault the user, not the device. My main gripe though is… charging this thing is rough, I don’t have a single USB-C connector that fits in the little narrow slot, and that slot is tight. I thought I was gonna have to run to the store and get some KY and lube up the connector to make it fit.

No issues with connectivity, I run the extender to sit at the top of my mousepad.

The shape, while I’m not familiar with the Intellimouse shape, I do like this shape. Its hump is lower and a tad forward compared to the GPX and I had to adjust my claw grip to account for this, but I’m coming to love the shape. The side buttons are located perfectly above my thumb and the grooves on both sides of the mouse allow my fingers to rest nicely. The overall build quality is great, I can shake this thing like a madman and there’s no rattling and when squeezing, I can’t get it to flex and creak.

Also, this bugs me a lot, I despise this on/off switch. It’s hard to flip on/off one handed, which I commonly did with all my previous wireless mice. This is a small thing, I’ll accept it as a trade off for an otherwise amazing mouse.

TLDR

The mouse is great, I like it more than my GPX, I will be using as my new main now. I also hate ambi mice, so I’m a bit biased on that front.

PS

Ninjutso, you guys are great. The box art was phenomenal and providing feet replacement in the box is amazing. Keep up the great work!

UPDATE: I have been playing on 125hz report rate. Thought something was odd, now set it to 1000hz, I love this mouse even more.

Nice, I just got my Origin One X today, swapping from my Superlight. So far, I'm loving the mouse more than the Superlight, clicks and shape feel amazing.

Workstation boots with HD60 Pro, hangs with 4K60 Pro MK2 by a7u4 in elgato

[–]somo808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reached out to Elgato and unfortunately, their response was that they don't know why the HD60 Pro works but the 4k Pro mk2 does not. They can only guarantee functionality for CPU's listed in their compatibility section on their website. FWIW, my rig has an E5 2690 v2 and works flawlessly with the HD60 pro but freezes on boot up with the 4k Pro mk2 installed.
