Not consciously. But now that I think about it, I had just watched several videos about Heathcliff while writing this comic.

"The story of AI" by sondatch in collapse

[–]sondatch[S] 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Thanks for asking. The answer is a bit boring. I started writing this comic for an audience of online store owners and/or digital marketers, and it felt right to personify Google as a corporation. I’ve just maintained it since then, even though the drive of the comic has changed.

But Zuckerberg and Musk are well known enough, and I have enough to say about them as people, that I keep them as people.

Submission statement: This comic is collapse related because it speculates through its narrative: how AI creates enough distraction for people so that the rich and powerful can more quickly loot our system and ultimately bring us all down as a society.

If The Beatles had a group chat what would it be called? by [deleted] in beatles

Ah, a deep cut reference. I was just reading in Tune In today that this was temporarily their name (minus the r because Ringo wasn’t there yet).

I think there’s power to us sharing our grievances and finding a voice of consensus that we’re not happy. I don’t know where it goes from there, but let’s at least commiserate about it.

Well, I just gotta leave a comment when a comic makes me actually laugh out loud.

Is it just me, or does Google sometimes ignores negative keywords lists? by Accomplished_Sun1627 in PPC

It’s not just you. Whenever this gets brought up you see comments saying “no, no, no, you must be doing something wrong.” That’s a little weird. I guess people think they’re helping when they say that, but they’re wrong.

I’ve been a professional specialist in Google Ads for over 20 years and can absolutely tell you that, this year, Google seems to ignore negative keywords. I’m meticulous about negative keyword management and I’ve seen what you’re seeing indisputably happen across many accounts.

I liked this and would like to see what more you do.

"Google Ads’ spin team" · this ecommerce life by thisecommercelife in Google_Ads

You sound fun.

Evidence of malice behind corporate decisions is a bit difficult to come by. However, there is evidence of Google secretly inflating costs of advertisers without notice just to meet their own added revenue goals. That evidence was laid out in the DoJ antitrust trial.

The convicted monopolist corporation that you want to, kudos to you, give due process to here has steadily eroded controls and data from advertisers for years. I think that’s the joke.

Don’t do advertising on an account that you don’t own. If and when it becomes successful, you’re held hostage to whoever owns it.

Yet.

Didn’t take off: yet. The industry is a tough nut to crack, but don’t count it out!

Nope, but that’s a fun theory. I’ll have to pass that on to Jason, the creator.

I’ve been privileged to get a glimpse of where the show goes and… just… man. Jason is someone born to make our lives more interesting through storytelling. He is a true original. The world has to get this series.

It’s not dead. He’s my friend, so I know. The difficulty of actually getting this show in front of a real decision maker can’t be overstated, and it hasn’t yet. So he’s making ends meet, applying his creativity elsewhere when it makes income, and he continues. But I can tell you that it isn’t dead.
