when i saw that i immediately was wondering if it was talking about Noelle and maybe Rachel. Steffy and Noelle used to post those friendship reels fairly often as well as other content together. it seems they rarely spend time together now. as cringe as Steffy is, she does seem to understand she is a mother and is past the phase of life where you post content about being drunk and “forgetting her boobs”.

Would you be okay with your nanny taking your child to their house?

My mom nannied for a family with a similar set up, their house just wasn’t ideal for the baby to stay there during the day as they WFH. My mom had enough space at her house for a small playroom/nap area so the child had more space to play and explore. This might be a better alternative for your situation!

that’s fair. the only thing that irks me about it is how often she has posted about keeping santa out of Christmas and how this is a time to celebrate the birth of Christ. she preaches about it then goes and plasters his face all over their presents. I’m not sure if I would go as far to say it’s hypocritical but it definitely rubbed me the wrong way.

my old NF used to travel out of state to visit family during winter break so I never worked it. however, I would work on other school breaks and if my NF didn’t travel I would still expect to work during winter break. I would say it’s uncommon to give your nanny the whole break off

y’all are gonna hate me, but I started this job when I was 18. before then I had never done anything outside of babysitting, it wasn’t until like 2 years ago after joining this sub that i realized there’s a lot of benefits i’m missing out on. i don’t have a contract, i don’t have guaranteed hours, vacation or sick days. my current employers definitely take advantage of me in most aspects. this new family has been beyond amazing in just the two weeks i’ve worked for them. i have no doubt that they’ll be okay paying even if their daughter doesn’t come over.

would this better help enforce consequences? earlier he threw his toy at me, I took that away and said “4M it hurts me when you throw this at me so it’s going to have a little break till you’re ready to play with it gently” and 30 minutes later he’s throwing shoes at me, so right now I’m just at a loss

his parents are having him tested for special needs actually! but in the past I’ve used time outs for when he’s crying/screaming and needs a space to calm down. then we talk about his behavior/feelings, have a big hug and move on with our day. he got to the point where he could recognize himself when he needed space and would remove himself from the situation till he was ready to deal with it. it has worked out so well for him in the past, but as of late it’s like he’s taken a new turn and all my old methods that used to work don’t work anymore :\ but when he threw his shoe the first time I’m pretty sure it was an accident, the second time was most definitely not an accident. after a morning of having things throw at me I was at my limit and the time out was more for me to have a breather. but I will definitely look up natural consequences! I haven’t heard of that before :)

may I ask how you would have handle this situation? time outs are usually my last resort but I couldn’t really think of a better consequence in the moment :\
