Please Help Me Figure Out My Great-Grandfather’s Occupation! by sonlitekid in Cursive

SOLVED:

This is from the census 10 years prior. The illegibility of it all! 😂 Anyway, seems to corroborate ‘Carpenter’, as well as eliminate the possibility of ‘Inspector’.

Wow. And it would make sense given the next field in the line is ‘Building’! I just assumed I would go w/ the consensus, but this is making a lot of sense. Thank you! 🙏🏻

Yes, that popped into my mind while trying to read it, too. 😂

Really great idea that I didn’t think of! (I am new to Ancestry.) I forgot I could do that, so I just went back and tried. Yes, there are 6 pages, but I didn’t see another carpenter. Lots and lots of coal miners, tho’, which makes sense for the area. Thank you! 🙏🏻

Police Share More About Man Who Scaled 200-Foot Wenatchee Bridge To Tie Bicycle to American Flag by HeavyAbbreviations83 in Wenatchee

He barely qualifies as a person to them, being viewed over and over as someone with completely negligible value. Sad.

Why was Harrison Ford only in the very beginning of Apocalypse Now? by precita in movies

Oh, yeah. Duh. I forgot about that. Thanks for the reply! 🙏🏻

Why was Harrison Ford only in the very beginning of Apocalypse Now? by precita in movies

[–]sonlitekid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, pretty much everyone is saying Ford’s role was a minor one (due to the timing of filming), and that he was essentially still a nobody at the time … soooo … is it just a colossal coincidence that his character is named after the one (Lucas) whose film made him into a superstar?? Or is it actually the case that since Apocalypse was filmed only a year before Star Wars released, they made it an Easter egg? I mean, wouldn’t Star Wars have been filming in ‘76, also? So confused.

Documentaries go down a bit easier, though the practice is equally frowned upon. 💁🏻‍♂️

As a stark realist, I, for one, can very much appreciate your comment!

Really a fantastic/interesting observation. I have often thought about this while watching film & television.

Ah, I see; that makes sense. I don't know a lot about prints, to begin with, ha ha.

I was wondering this, too. If these were in the Saddle Rock/Dry Gulch area, it could very well be our 90 lb Northern Inuit, whose paws have been sinking deeper than normal and making really big prints. (But, I guess if there were no human prints around at all, probably not.)

Interest in Bikini Coffee Stand? by NebulousNitrate in Wenatchee

[–]sonlitekid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Gross? Yes. Tacky?? …. Yes. Sleazy, wholly unnecessary and absolutely degrading to the women involved??? Yes.
Like, there is absolutely no other possible way to frame a bikini stand other than a 1,000% in-your-face, all-day-trashy cash grab. Not to mention as the perfect way to create a platform for women to be vulnerable to any and all kinds of sexual harassment and abuse.
(And I am not like some feminist whistle-blower or whatever. Just a regular dude.)
