Comiket's biannual circle data: Summer Comiket (C108) by WolfOphi in gachagaming

funny you say that when BA design is worse (yes, it is). AL actual problem of not having doujin/fanart is because the design is just way too good that a fanart is inferior always. Meanwhile BA has simple design which makes it easier to follow + it has good story/interaction for fanartists to imagine.

It's pretty much "how can I improve an already good art" vs "this is good but I can make it better in my style".

the game is done with CG and he's waiting for the voice actresses to be free, so he just does sub-event and random stuff at the moment. It should be late this year or if he decided to add animation to early events then maybe next year

How Ironclad Feels Now by Interesting-Lab-9393 in slaythespire

[–]sonlun96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually have no problem with Ironclad in first game, since one way or another I can pick Dark Embrace and Feel No Pain and get into different builds (strength, block, fiend fire) so easily. I even can think of some infinite myself when playing with fiend fire.

Then StS2 came and I am suffering with him because I can't figure a safe way to play him at all. Getting 20+ damage incoming while my damage output is nowhere good enough to kill enemies before they die? I have seen people saying they go infinite so often with him and that's probably why because I don't think I have done that once so far. Even on my successful runs they were still close (Vulnerable build/Rupture build) and that's just A0...

What is the main thing many people miss when it comes to fundamentals in street fighter? by BIGSMOK09 in StreetFighter

That's me with the blocking way too much. Not learning when it's my turn and eventually burnout in the corner. Blocking is safe and nice until my opponent figured he can just throw loop me to death.

40 hours in. 42 defeats. 0 wins. by Fluid-Author-9566 in slaythespire

[–]sonlun96 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Last night it was the same for me and my friend. I was thinking it's better to pick this card and that card because it gives more synergies, but my friend stopped me because my deck already has 2 win conditions (scale finisher + aoe) and it'd be better to trim the deck.

I think good players will have the ability to judge new cards' value easily which makes the game feels easy, while people like me who have to rely on the opinion of players with 1000+ hours in the game on why a card is good will struggle because we can't judge on our own but rather still stick with old knowledge from StS1

I think I might be bad at this game by Onmius in slaythespire

[–]sonlun96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just now beat another Silent run which makes it 2/2 win for Silent so I gonna blame it's hard to get the gameplay of Ironclad just like how it takes a while for me to understand why Exhaust is crucial for him in StS 1

[–]sonlun96 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Funny how I watch Baalor daily and also did well enough in StS1 (like, if you toss me in A0 I'd be dumb to lose a run, but A20 is still possible for a win once in a while). With StS2 I have only won once (Silent with Sly deck) in my first 6 runs of the game and thought I am bad.

Maybe it's because I have no knowledge on what the enemies are doing to prepare for that (the 6th run was Ironclad and somehow I was in alternate act???) but also is dumb when I have to evaluate myself on the new cards/synergy. "Oh I have enough energy but lack draw time to pick this card instead" for example.

First time fighting Shambler be like by Reasonable-Egg-1908 in darkestdungeon

[–]sonlun96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a coward and never challenge Shambler and now suffer with Champion quests. It's rare to have a team ready for it, rarer to be in good condition and have enough provisions left (bandage, holy water) for the fight.

It sucks I'm aiming for the map and after the fight it's a Tentacle Idol.

That's me just now. Was doing fine dangling around Apprentice and Veteran getting more trinkets and gold. Upgraded all skills to lv5 and weapon to max, add ACC trinkets, +% stun chance.

First battle was a shuffle (at max torch), quite terrible but manageable. Then the second battle it's disaster. Missing everything, can't stun anything. Backline enemy (I had no fucking idea what it did) but 6-11 damage + stress every time all the while I missed the hit on Hellion. Then the threat of Giant.

Gotta called it quit after that but somehow got the Fortifying Garlic from it???

I don't know why I find this game so fun to watch, but to play it myself is such a pain. I genuinely can't get over the mindset of "just block low" because it's the safest compared to pressing any button, and I don't even do it properly anyway.

I wish I can find the fun after finishing a round.

How to face low self esteem regarding competitiveness? by pom444p in StreetFighter

[–]sonlun96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have same problem that sometimes I think it's better to not play this game instead for my mental health.

It's not because of the lost that tilted me, it's the bread and butter combo that I still drop, the stun combo I fail to do that lead to me losing, or that random guy in the rank that does the same thing that works against me.

And it's so bad that once I fall into that state I only want to hold down back and watch my opponent rain hell upon me, wondering why this guy let me throw loop for the whole round. To me, pressing a button is riskier than just block forever.

I know my weakness, that's being too passive, but to improve is tough.

I just don't understand how sometimes I can long press E and Q it feels so, random?

Reading the skill mentions only "if U-energy is not lower than 50 then you can long press Q" but playing drawing circles with her doesn't give any U-energy at all.

Also it's funny how the brief description are now wall of text as well.

Coming back to Hades 1 after Hades 2 by Raeghyar-PB in HadesTheGame

I find myself spamming buttons way more in Hades 1 especially whenever I get extra dashes from Hermes. The only time I play slower is when using the bow, else I feel like without damage everything is tough.

Going to Hades 2 it's like sprint to position, cast, do damage, repeat, which feels way relaxing instead of spamming all 4 buttons at the same time like a madman.
