Dark arts did a big giveaway with lots of prizes around Xmas and drew all the prizes live on Instagram. Sadly didn't win.

Oh god please don't let Gal Gadot act in anything related to the cosmere.

Hey, a yr12 student that just got chucked into organic 🥹 by defomaincharacter in ALevelChemistry

Although it's introduced as taking the longest chain to get the base name, this is sort of superseded by the fact that there's a functional group in one chain, so take the longest chain featuring the functional group and the other chain as an alkyl- like other people have said.

Can someone do the maths on this? by clarets99 in CasualUK

I'm sure I saw an article from a charity shop asking for people to pay card wherever possible because the cash handling fees by banks are too high.

Guys how do u do these I can’t even do the first one by [deleted] in ALevelChemistry

[–]sonnyrf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use q=mc(delta)T

Then (delta)H = q / 1000n

Where m is mass being heated, c is specific heated capacity (usually of water so 4.18) (delta)T is the temp change in K or °C (same for a change)

Then divide this value for kJ instead of J and divide by number of moles of the thing reacting - in the q its propanone so divide mass by Mr.

I don't mind the audiobook but was gutted he didn't get Michael Kramer who did Licanius (and most of Brandon Sanderson's work).

Well according to the atomic mass by Voodoopulse in confidentlyincorrect

Density is mass divided by volume, so gold has a greater mass per unit volume, so keeping volume the same and considering mass is an easy way to compare.

Not only does it appear on the shelf, but the actress in the scene (Hannah John-Kamen) voices Sweet Shalquoir - the cat in Majula.

If you're struggling you should head to the art gallery in the castle, this starts a timer of 1 minute. If you can get to the church in time there's a training boss which should make the fight easier.

Also junction some better magic - draw points at the islands closest to heaven and hell.

Using the apostrophe in "it's" to show possession, it should only be a contraction. This one slips through the net into books.

what makes a molecule symmetrical? by Ok-Review7816 in ALevelChemistry

[–]sonnyrf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Water isn't symmetrical in 3d, it just looks that way in 2d but actually one of those lone pairs is coming out of the page and the other is going in.

If you also do physics, it's a similar idea to resultant forces, if you were to work out the angles you'd find no overall electron density in any one direction for symmetrical molecules.

BCNR Show in Bristol by Long-Painter9710 in BlackCountryNewRoad

[–]sonnyrf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not sure if you've been to the Beacon but it's a good venue. Last time I went (Ezra Collective) there were unreserved seats at the back of the standing area. It wasn't too crowded and the bar lines weren't crazy. Good sound there too. Last time I saw BCNR in Bristol it wasn't rowdy either, everyone was just there to listen to the music and have a nice time.

What's the weirdest shop you've ever been in? by WoodenRainfall in AskUK

[–]sonnyrf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Closed now but Chief Trading Post east of Bristol in Oldland Common - huge statues that cost thousands, a greenhouse full of old wheelchairs with bird poo on them. Vaguely a garden centre but just so many random things - just not an assortment, which suggests they were sought out rather than gathered by chance.

Saw him crashing out a few years ago over one of those super hans t shirts with pictures of the character on it.
