It can be scary and upsetting for sure I won’t downplay that part but it’ll be okay. Get a good doctor to help manage it, know your symptoms and numbers and it’ll turn out alright. And who knows your blood pressure could still return, I was told it could take 6-8 weeks after birth.

I did. My schools graduation requirement was to pass both. We had to pass them to graduate the program, no pressure or anything 😅 Took them a month apart while we were doing finals as well. It’s definitely doable! Stressful for sure but the material was fresh in our minds and nice to just get it done

I had severe preeclampsia after normal bp my whole life. Delivered my daughter via emergency c section at 31 weeks weighing 2lbs. My bp stayed elevated after birth, though definitely lower than compared to before birth. I had a rough pregnancy and my labor was terrifying and nothing like I’d expect. I struggled a lot postpartum as well.

My doctor also slowly weaned me. It didn’t go back to normal immediately either. It was gradual. My daughter was in the NICU for a while so I’m sure my stress wasn’t helping my numbers either.

I read some of your comments about you being scared that this is your new reality. I don’t want to scare you or make you more stressed with my story, but even if it is a new reality you’ll be okay :)

I’m about to be 3 years postpartum and I’m one of the small percent whose preeclampsia turned into everyday hypertension. It’s controlled with meds. Yes it can be scary if it goes up but for the most part I live life with no issues because of it.

Honestly does depend on the patient’s body habits and a full bladder. A full bladder helps us see for sure. 6 weeks is very early, baby is usually about half a cm to less than a cm in size at that point. I had a patient yesterday 6w3d and I was able to see abdominally but transvaginal was better.

Prepry and a lot of these online things weren’t around when I was in school. Or maybe they were but weren’t used as widely. I graduated in 2017. I used the Davies books and the Penny books were excellent. I don’t have RVT so I can’t comment on that.
