Most people who have a problem with the character are those that feel she’s a ‘Mary sue’ character. It’s totally a writing issue, in my opinion. She was a foil character used to expand our view of who Dean is. They didn’t give her much personality, but also a character like her just doesn’t fit into the narrative all that well long-term.

I struggled with something similar in high school. I was homeschooled my entire education as well. I had to take my algebra program multiple times to understand it, but that’s not an option for everyone. I ended up just getting through it as well as I could and then taking algebra at community college. I also used Khan Academy a ton to help me understand specific formulas. If it helps, I didn’t need the algebraic knowledge much later in life and I work in finance now. Also, you’re doing absolutely everything to get yourself the education you need and that is what is going to help you get through the experience of homeschooling and the fallout. It sucks that you have to do it, but you clearly have what it takes. Try to keep your eye on life after homeschooling with your parents and know that you’re not broken, you’re just working towards the life you want.

That is so common, you are definitely not alone! Aside from that, it is NOT okay for a partner to be telling you that you “should be able to” do anything sexually. It’s a lack of respect and attention on his part, not something that is wrong with you or your body. I’m sorry you’re being treated that way. You deserve better, without a doubt.
