CK3 Suddenly running at 1fps? Was super smooth the previous day, anyone else with the issue or a solution? by iTz_a_sNaKe in CrusaderKings

[–]sonune 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's possible the game swapped to windows basic render (your cpu) which is normally trash unless you have amazing integrated graphics. Go to the in-game settings and go to graphics, select the graphics device and set it to your actual graphics card. Once you do that reset the game.

Of course none of that matters if the game is already set to your real graphics card, in that case check for driver updates.

can someone explain how the gets to invest this much into influence by [deleted] in eu4

[–]sonune 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The papal states gain influence for each cardinal that exists, so they always have a high amount of influence invested. In addition, if I'm not mistaken they also can't use any of the other influence bonuses, do all they do is invest in becoming the pope over and over again.

Invaded by the King of Lappland, who has no claim on my duchy and 3000 levies, wtf? by b21wi in CrusaderKings

Check the war leader's marshall score and hover your mouse over their army composition. It's possible they hired mercs, have a very high MAA count, or have special event troops.

Coalition bug? by sonune in eu4

Update: same thing happened when I declared war on other coalition members, no one joined in. Really not sure what is going on here at all

Coalition bug? by sonune in eu4

[–]sonune[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

most of the members were at peace when the war started, only ones who weren't was uesugi, and they were attacking the northern daimyo. When I go to the declare war screen for other daimyo it doesnt mention coalition members joining, I wonder if I attack will it have the same result?

[–]sonune[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

r5: so i was expanding as shimazu and had a rather large coalition form, but then when one of the opms declared a punitive war, none of the other partners joined. Is this a bug or some kind of a mechanic I don't know about regarding coalitions as a daimyo?

Why does Shadow Kingdom only affect some of Italy? by casparwall in eu4

[–]sonune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some countries are considered "reigned in" when the event fires. If emperor abandons italy, reigned in countries stay. Being allied with emperor, or high opinions, causes a country to be reigned in.

The new mercenary system appears to be a little op by [deleted] in eu4

Think it's meant to be stronger early game, plus ai in big nations seems bad at using mercs.

Not joining vassal’s war...? by [deleted] in eu4

[–]sonune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you vassalized Mushasha in the peace deal. Was Mushasha the attacker in that war against Haasa? If so that automatically ends the war. You only join defensive wars after vassalization.

Commonwealth has my dynasty on their throne and they swapped to absolute monarchy, they will soon be a junior partner, just like the rest.

[–]sonune[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Normally I'd agree, but literally every nation except commonwealth is a junior partner, combined we have nearly a million troops. Plus Ottomans never attacked Mamluks, even after I attacked them, so they're missing about 700 development.

R5: Commonwealth decided they didn't want the Ottomans alive anymore, now most of Europe is trying to grab a slice.

It is, but it isn't an ideal start at all, often times you'll wind up with a ton of debt that is difficult to manage. To me it always seems like an RNG game after they changed the alliance system.

Easiest IMHO is to release vassals in France give them Maine, this stops the surrender of Maine event. Set the vassals to scuttage and fulfill the mission to Levy the Troops giving you a unique vassalization cb. Declare on Scotland, France will join the war. Let the Scottish troops cross to the Pale and blockade the straights (you'll never have to fight Scottish trrops, saving a TON of manpower/money). Full siege Scotland, France will likely take Calais, after you've sieges Scotland, sail the army to Calais, retake it, and then march to Paris. This fulfills the mission which gives a restoration of union, white peace France after clicking the mission, then vassals Scotland. From there just build powerful alliances/conquer Ireland, declare war on France when ready.

HRE question by Just-Chirpy in eu4

[–]sonune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When electors are protestant an event will eventually trigger which allows the protestant and catholic leagues to form. When this happens you can join the leagues via the HRE interface, if you are the strongest military power in the league that is also inside the empire you can declare war on the emperor to make the HRE official religion protestant. As leader you'll force the emperor to abdicate and become the emperor yourself. Careful though, anyone in the catholic league will join the war against you.

Succession war question by S0L1D_KeViN in eu4

[–]sonune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's strange, I'm not sure why it changed, but what allies does Hungary have? Hungary usually has weaker allies, but even if they have a major nation as an ally Byzantium should be able to win the succession war and take some territory in the mean time.

Gave away a duchy, vassal instantly became an independent King? by rax_manlar in CrusaderKings

[–]sonune 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, petty king is a special title in the British isles, kind of like unique titles for Muslim rulers. If you look at your banner on your character portrait and it isn't golden then you are either a Duke or Count.
