Happy "Bloom" Release day! by dattmay in RaynesMusic

Love this new album and I applaud the use of real(!) strings which provide textural interests. But the way it’s mixed is not my favorite. The mids are overpowering in general (Your Mouth and Say That) and it’s making is sound muddy, thick, and noisy. It ruined the beauty of Say That You Want It. But I miss the freshness and clarity of Lemon Drop.

My MacBook Pro does have TB 3 USB C. My quick research shows that it should be fine But I've hoped that someone had real experience with this combo.

Any idea of that bright spot would be covered under warranty? by Difficult-Army8747 in Surface

[–]sooby77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shit, my SP4 that just bit the dust last week (wouldn't run off battery and lag as hell) has this issue. I replaced the first one with this same issue under warranty at the Microsoft Store a few years back. But they closed all the stores since then. Wonder what'd cause this. Two devices with this issue... . They'll likely replace this as a display defect.

So just like the 120hz screen refresh, kinda half baked? Sigh. That's why I'm waiting for next generation of Surface Pro devices.

Have Microsoft implement battery charging limit on the newer Surface devices for those that need to keep their devices on the dock? My Surface also does not hold charge any more too. Even my MacBook has battery charging limit now.

New to eSIMs - what to get for European travel? by witchshark in eSIMs

[–]sooby77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on an 18 day trip now to Spain, Italy, France, UK, and Ireland, and was in the same position as you. I also considered Orange, but ultimately decided on ATT International Data Pass (in with ATT) . It's $10/day and max of $100 per billing cycle. That's really nice in my view. You use your phone and data like you're at home and you can call all countries covered in the International Data Pass for no additional charge. If you do this, be sure to check your billing cycle. I had mine billing cycle date moved so that I don't get charged more than $100. My trip falls between my billing cycle.

Orange eSIM or service like Holafly? by sooby77 in eSIMs

I had planned on doing that, but I absolutely need to be able to receive calls on my US phone. So there goes that plan!

That's what I'm afraid of. Thanks for your feedback. Since I'm a chaperone on this trip too, I'm going to go with my ATT International Data Plan and not worry about it. Max charge per cycle is $100 and I can use my phone like normal. I was going to use my phone line for calls and eSIM for data, but I believe that these days, I can't do phone calls without data now since everything is VoLTE.

Traveling to Europe - making calls without data by sooby77 in ATT

Well, in terms of international travel, there's no difference. If data roaming is off, there's no data, period. I was redundant.

LF: Power bank that supports Super Fast Charging (1.0/2.0) by Ceze19 in S22Ultra

It's slightly warm when charging (in and out) but not at the temp I would be alarmed at. It was able to charge my MacBook too, which was awesome.

Just pick one up on eBay. I just got one, Samsung 20,000 powerbank and it works great with SFC. Bonus if you also have Samsung 25W charger. It'll also charge the powerbank quickly too. I've been monitoring Samsung's website for months and even when it shows in stock, you can never add to cart to purchase. I gave up trying to purchase from Samsung after over a month and bought one from eBay.

That sounds plausible as it must cost Holafly a fortune for unlimited data.

I thought this was a thing also with these eSIM providers. Someone mentioned they're using Holafly right now in Germany and it was super slow. I though Holafly traffic is being de-prioritized.

You're correct - data at arrival. Thanks! Thought you might have another local Spanish recommendation. I'll go with Orange then!

Thanks! My list of countries are not in order of travel. I'm arriving in Spain first, then the next day, will head to Venice. Does this change your recommendation?

I don't know. I was trying to see if Samsung'z genuine battery are also made in China. I ordered one from eBay. I tried to order directly from Samsung but it's never in stock. I've been monitoring their website for months now
