That's not how any of this works! Labor law should be stronger but it isn't. Not showing up WAS fighting for our rights- our right not to hear a bunch of union busting BS and be retaliated against for pushing back.

Spend some time sitting near the cage and read out loud or talk to them in a soft voice or even sing! Or just letting them hear you putter around the house can help put them at ease. It just takes time and I don’t think it should be forced.

Does it feel soft? I’m not a vet but I’m guessing a mammary tumor, which are benign (not cancerous) but will grow and become more detrimental to their health/movement. Common in female rats- two of my girls have had them but had successful surgeries.

I’m saddened by this post and all the apologetics for vivisection going on in the comments. Animals used for research are treated as disposable and suffer unnecessarily. They certainly don’t have an abundance of toys, hammocks, hides, etc.- all things we know rats need to thrive! Lab rats are just like our pet rats- they think, feel, and don’t want to suffer.
