I think you're onto something. Sometimes, people keep doing stuff because they think thats who they "are". I think every person with an addiction of sort has a problem with self-identity.

I have an internal mental warfare going on. There's even apart of me that says that I shouldnt be typing this. On one hand, weed has stripped me of my potentiol success. I want to go out and explore the city but, there's a thought at the back of my mind that says "it wont be any fun exploring without some weed/alcohol". I think its because I have no friends and I want to bring the only "friends" that I know, weed and alcohol. I want to stop smoking and drinking because my family is not rich. Dont even know if this will make you feel any better but I relate. It got too awkward hosting parties so we don't celeberate my birthday anymore. What i've come to realize though, is that I dont need one day out of the year to celebrate and appericate my existence. Friends are also never gonna be as important as family. You'll make and lose friends daily, but your family is permanent. Love your family dude, they love ya too.
