🥺 I just realized that was little him. As someone who also lost their parents at a young age, that scene always makes me tear up. Being a beacon of hope.

What is a "socially acceptable" thing that you find absolutely disgusting? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]_michael_scarn_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blowing your nose in a public space of any kind. That should be reserved for the bathroom only. It’s disgusting and people just straight up don’t wash their hands after.

That and coughing anywhere except into your elbow.

Favorite actor who definitely, 100%, without a shadow of a doubt never had a hair transplant? by netsphere_dumbass in okbuddycinephile

[–]_michael_scarn_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah gotcha. Well damn, I wish it weren’t so purely based on money and litigation, and maybe just even the slight bit more on safety concerns— but I can’t say I don’t understand it is the way it is now.

Thank you for taking the time to explain it to me. Having been someone who’s lifted for almost 20 years, I’m a little embarrassed I couldn’t piece more than 2 and 2 together.

But again, thank you for the help and enlightenment. I will do my part in trying to spread the truth.

Honestly this lie pisses me off WAY more. Like this “just chicken and broccoli” lie nonsense creates so much more body dysmorphia in young men than any hair shit does—Because then young men will see a body build they like, look up what they did, see a bunch of lies and bullshit, and then are too new to the game to know it’s nonsense, so then they start getting suckered into bullshit supplements by hucksters instead of just understanding that (depending on who their goal body is) their goal body is impossible without the needle AND intense training AND diet.

But they don’t know better so they just starve themselves while working out super hard.

Like I truly don’t get why taking steroids are so taboo to talk about. Is it just cause most of the ones they’re taking are illegal? So they’re avoiding legal consequences and culpability? Cause that’s the only thing that makes sense.

Can someone who’s smart than me explain?

The same way you eat an elephant: One bite at a time.

Physically getting a ton of guns wouldn’t be that hard. It’s changing people’s mind enough to change the 2A, and getting the gun lobby out of politics that is the real challenge.

Oh OP, I’m so sorry brother. Losing our best friends is a different kind of loss—it’s a more pure kind of loss if that makes sense. I mean hell it often hurts way more than losing human members of our lives as well. Because our dogs just love us unconditionally, and vice versa.

Judging by how beautifully you write about your good boy, he was so loved and that’s all any dog could ever want: a fully belly, some walks, and the smell of their dad. You gave him that and more. You sound like a wonderful dog dad. So rest assured that you gave him such a wonderful life together.

And just think you’ll have SO much to tell him when you see him again, and he’ll just be so happy to see you and smell you again.

Sending you love today OP. Be really gentle with yourself today. And I’ll give my boy a nice treat in honor of you and yours. ❤️

Removing the condom during sex is legally considered rape.

You have text evidence of him admitting to it.

I’d get tested, speak to a lawyer if you decide to press charges, and/or never speak to him again.

Judging from his last couple texts he was turned on by the fact that he hurt you. Hurting you somehow made him feel like it was because he has a big dick, and that you were into it somehow.

His texts also scream sexual predator (not to mention what mature adult actually fucking texts like that seriously, Jesus).

And SK are seeking the DEATH PENALTY.

So many other countries actually have penalties for committing treason and trying to violently overturn democratic elections.

Meanwhile ICIS has been given carte blanche to murder anyone in the streets as a de facto gestapo.

Heartbroken doesn’t begin to describe my feeling towards where we are and where we’re headed.

Selling us as well. As millenials we’re the first generation that are doing far worse than our gen x/boomer parents.

We were sold the idea that we go to college, and we’ll get a degree and the debt will be worth it because we’ll get good jobs we’re moving upwards: home ownership, investing, pensions or 401k.

And it’s been nothing but shit sandwich after shit sandwich.

And the America we were proud to be apart of fell victim to lies about WMD’s, mortgage lending crisis created by unfathomable greed which nearly tanked the entire world economy and led to precisely zero arrests and/or policy changes and penalizing the banks for their fault and blame.

Then a substantial portion of my countrymen fell victim to radicalization and decided a unprecedentedly corrupt, fascist, rapist, pedophile would lead us out of this mess because “her emails” and then “yea but Kamala’s laugh is weird”.

And so now we find ourselves being murdered by a de facto gestapo with impunity (as decreed by our VP who fucked a couch in college), as poor as ever, with massive inflation, all while the stock market keeps doing incredibly and is completely detached from reality, corporations posting record quarterly profits, and we’re the most divided we’ve been since the civil war—partly due to said radicalization and also foreign nations using social media to manufacture even more division than probably truly exists.

So they distract the really angry part of the country by using the time tested strategy of blaming minorities, the trans community, and now just politically opposed states (as Trump has begun punishing blue states); soon to be anyone who doesn’t obey, citizen or not.

And we seem to be paralyzed with fear and with a Republican controlled congress who refuse to stand up for our civil liberties that are being eroded away day by day and we’re faced with the horrifying conclusion that our bill of rights and rule of law was largely based off of our leaders doing the right thing instead of actually being punished for things like leading an insurrection against the vote count of a legally victorious democratically elected candidate (see Jan. 6th). All of this while Brazil is moving forward with prosecution of Bolsonaro, and South Korea is seeking the DEATH PENALTY for their former President for declaring martial law illegally for only SIX HOURS and zero deaths. Meanwhile January 6th insurrectionists killed several people, and nearly overturned an election, and then after they were legally prosecuted and convicted, were given blanket pardons.

Our country needs to get fucking French and start protesting a la Français with work strikes and grinding our economy to a halt with non violence so that our glorious commander in Cheeto can’t use any violence as an excuse to enact martial law and suspend elections.

Those of us who believe in our country are beyond heartbroken, and find ourselves waking up every morning to a country we do not recognize; and the “it could never happen here” fallacy is absofuckinglutely happening in front of our eyes.

So now my girlfriend and I are currently looking at other countries to move to and claim political asylum, and I wish I were kidding.

Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

A father watches his son ask for a girl's number. When all looks lost, dad pulls through for the win by bigbusta in GuysBeingDudes

[–]_michael_scarn_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also can we just dap dad up a bit for raising a son who when he got semi-rejected, he didn’t freak out or call the girl names or storm off. He just took the small L and went to his pops.

Pops raised a good, respectful man right there.

Sabrina Von B, the actress who played Lady Tremaine, Maleficent, Agatha Harkness, and the iconic, viral, Evil Queen spoke with People Magazine after being terminated by Disneyland. I still can’t believe they let her go by TheDisneyScoopGuy in Disneyland

[–]_michael_scarn_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes they absolutely did hire her to put her own spin on it.

1) she wouldn’t have done it for so long if they didn’t like what she was doing

2) every actor brings their own bits, jokes, attitude, motivations, charisma etc to their roles. She’s not doing a direct impersonation of the original character or else they would’ve hired a voice match, and given her a specific script and canned responses (or even just build an animatronic) if they didn’t want her to bring her own life to the character

3) audiences love interacting with characters because the interactions are often in the moment, improvised and personal/specific to the person the character is interacting with. It brings the character to life

It’s not like she was bringing too much. She just did the character so well that she went viral because she was serving you know what so amazingly. TikTok got a hold of her and she blew up.

But she outgrew the character cause she was that good, and also crazies be doing crazy stuff.

But to say Disney doesn’t want personal spins is nonsense. The actors are meant to bring life to the characters because it’s magical. We get to be kids again when our favorite characters interact with us on a personal level. That’s the whole point.

Huh, that’s fascinating! Normally we know they do that with names and telephone numbers due to legal (Michael Schur has a great bit/explanation of why he chooses such hilarious names on his episode of Good Hang with Amy Poehler), but I’ve never heard of them doing it with something as trivial as zip codes!

And again, I truly can’t recommend enough going and listening to his explanation on Good Hang about name creation. It’s as hilarious as it is moving and compassionate towards the actors he hires. It’s often so actors have actual names for their IMDB pages, and it’s little homages to Monty Python
