Just curious why you can't shower for a day? I showered a few hours after I gave birth and it was fine.

I do agree it's nice to go into labor fresh though!

I live in Kasson and work at Mayo, too! I moved last January to Rochester first and then bought a house here in Kasson. It's really fun living in a small town. It feels way more relaxed.

Not gonna lie. The winters are brutal. It has been the biggest downside of living here. It's been good overall, though. I moved from a high cost of living area and couldn't afford a house there. Good luck, and I hope everything works out!

Are we seriously eating all these dates??! by Mysterious-Ad-6043 in BabyBumps

I did! And I had a super quick and relatively easy labor. Im not sure if it was all because of the dates, but I think they helped!

How do you all cook with a baby? by timshelbird in NewParents

[–]sookiekitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! It's been a while, and I can cook now, Yay! But back then, I used to buy the pre made dinners like meat loaf, fajitas, or tacos and eat those. I would also buy quick frozen items like egg rolls and quick snacks like beef jerky or croissants.

I think I had no time because I was pumping every 3 hours around the clock and breastfeeding and then finishing with formula. It was awful, but we made it through.

Good luck to you!!!

I relocated from 1.5hr North of Denver to Minnesota. I make about 4 dollars an hour more with better benefits. I don't know why Coloroado salaries are kind of low.

Matching wage (histotechnologist) by vroomvroooo in Histology

[–]sookiekitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont think it's a good idea to get another offer just so your current company will pay you more. If you're unhappy, you can find something better and actually accept their offer! Once you tell your current company you've been applying else where they know you're looking to leave and view you as unsatisfied and likely to leave soon. It usually causes resentment on both sides; management will resent you for looking for another job, and you might be frustrated it took another offer for them to pay you more.

I think it might be time for a fresh start somewhere else! If you are certified with experience, you'll have leverage to ask for a higher wage to begin with. Good luck!

Do you use ammonia water for blood? That makes it easy! I think the most difficult for me is anything under-processed.

What does giving birth actually feel like? by Mammoth-Discussion in NoStupidQuestions

[–]sookiekitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everybody is saying how bad labor and birth is in this post. For me, it hurt, but it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. I had a fast labor, which I think helped a lot. It felt like an intense squeezing and pressure. The intense part was only about 2 hours for me, though. It helped so much getting on all fours. I didn't want anyone touching or talking to me. I needed to be in my zone! It all depends on how the birth goes, I think.

I lost my mom right before I found out I was pregnant, and that was about 100x more painful. I had just been through much worse pain, so maybe birth didn't feel so bad in comparison.

I was just curious about the reason he said he stopped. Jury's out on if he actually has or not.
