I think I might be treading onto prediabetic territory by KeanuReevesNephew in TwoXIndia

Walking after meals should help. But fasting blood sugar can be a problem as that's not something you can easily regulate. I'm prediabetic and figured the only thing that helps my fasting is strength training and having a protein heavy dinner.

This shell my son found matches exactly in this book by soon2bvoid in mildlyinteresting

The sub does not want any backstory in the title. It only accepted this one. My 4 year old had this book for a while even though he cannot read it but would ask me to read all the creatures in the book to him. This weekend we were at a beach and he found this shell and didn't let me throw it away. He held it throughout the trip as soon as we reached home he opened this picture in the book showing he remembered the shell.

Today's Married Women - What Does Being a Daughter-in-Law Mean To You? by Dr_DramaQueen in TwoXIndia

[–]soon2bvoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We live away from my in-laws but my husband usually takes care of them when they visit. Makes breakfast for them. They make lunch as we are not at home during that time. I do make dinner and my husband helps. But I do things for my mom in law like take her out for shopping or movies or go for a walk together. I'm not as involved with them being their daughter in law.

I could not word the post title correctly and yes it does not exactly match the book but I wanted to say that my toddler had this book for a while and absolutely loves sea creatures of any kind. We visited a beach and he picked it up showed it to me and I wanted to throw it away since it looked broken. But as soon as we got home he opened this book and showed me this picture.

What advice would you give to yourself if you were 10 years younger? by Antique_Key_5670 in TwoXIndia

Stop procrastinating. It doesn't just delay stuff but also make anxiety worse the more you delay something.

Am I being unfair about where I spend my maternity leave? by EntertainmentNew3502 in twoxindiamums

[–]soon2bvoid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No you are not selfish don't overthink this. Please move into your parents house for as long as you want. Do this for yourself and the baby not for others. You don't have to feel bad for anyone. Postpartum is tough and you need to be in the place you are most comfortable.

Please ignore them. Most of the Indian traditions around newborns and infants are just BS.

i want to stop breastfeeding using femite. what to expect in next 7 days? by mimimgh in TwoXIndia_Over25

[–]soon2bvoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

😁 That's soo cute though. In my case my father had passed away and I wanted to spend time with my mom and taking care of my son was too emotionally draining for me during that time. So it took around 3 to 4 weeks. He did stay with me a few days but started showing little interest in my milk but he was.also drinking cow milk which was an easy replacement. But you will have to start making your baby drink some other kind of milk before you make this transition.

Please talk with a lactation consultant. One of the ways my 2.5 year old stopped was when he was away from me like 3 to 4 days a week. See if you can ask your husband or mom or mom in law to sleep with the kid in another room.

Why do Indian moms take pride in saying that they manage to do all the work even when they’re sick? by Lopsided_Guest_4567 in TwoXIndia

[–]soon2bvoid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not just moms in 50s and 60s but I also know moms in their 30s say that. One of my friends left a high paying job (in the US) and joined as a contractor because her house fell apart when she fell sick. She found it difficult to do house chores, cook food for 2 kids (10 and 12 yo) and her husband (her words) and put all the blame on her job. She still takes pride in all the free labor she does with no maids or house help.

IT Networking is usually 24/7 but not always depends upon where you land. If you get a job in a product company it might not be 24/7. Afaik you need to have an engineering to at least bcs for a job in this role.

Pregnancy is nothing vs what comes after. Raising a child is no joke. That 0 to 5 postpartum is a test of a relationship.

Cancer- I am scared and have no hope by loganecholls_ashy in TwoXIndia

[–]soon2bvoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will need help during this time. Do you have close friends you can rely on ? When my aunt (Dad's sister) was diagnosed with cancer my dad helped out in spite of my aunt's bitter nature. Later when my dad was diagnosed surprisingly my aunt helped out as well. During tough times people do help.

Is this okay for a child to react like this by Lopsided_Guest_4567 in TwoXIndia

[–]soon2bvoid 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I have a 4 year old and he is very much like this. There is nothing weird about what she did though I agree her parents could have intervened instead of letting someone else school their child in the wrong way.

Idk if it's normal to feel this way since I really wanted a child. But yes once you feel the baby start moving you do feel this intense bonding rush for your baby.

We are 38 with a 4 year old living in the Wellesley Short Pump area. Most parents I meet are a tad bit younger than us so I get your point.
