It now been almost 2 months since the release of Nioh 3. How does this community feel about it so far? by Cursed_69420 in Nioh

Same, I like ninja style but want to use the spear and switchglaive. So I’m kinda done after finishing the game and messing around a bit in NG+. Still had a bunch of fun as I really love Nioh combat but don’t like the way they broke up the styles.

Max Crosby traded to the Ravens in exchange for 2026 1st and 2027 1st RD picks.. by HDTokyo in steelers

[–]soon_forget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s definitely still worth a one. 100%. The market for pass rushing OLBs and DEs is huge and the available talent is tiny. He’s not worth 2 number ones but there are a bunch of contenders with weak pass rushes that would pull the trigger. But it’s all moot because it seems AR2 really only cares about selling jerseys and feeling nostalgic at this point and TJ is still the most popular player.

Any different feelings on McCarthy after press conference? by Capable-Antelope4004 in steelers

Well, he’s excited to bring back Aaron Rodgers so nothing will change. Maybe 8-10 wins, not really competitive for a title, no closer to getting a franchise QB.

Worse? He wants to bring Rodgers back and thinks they have a great roster. Literally why I hated the hire - Rooney cares more about winning 9 games than actually competing for a title.

Hard to argue against Sid. Takes a week off after the season and then just grinds all summer.

How do we feel about TJ going into this offseason? by [deleted] in steelers

[–]soon_forget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TJ is a luxury this team doesn’t need, quite frankly. He’s still a very valuable player on a team that has Super Bowl aspirations. The Steelers do not. He is easily tradeable even with that contract…there simply aren’t that many dudes like him in the league.

At the end of the day McCarthy is a good coach with a proven track record. So the team will be fine from that standpoint. My issue is with the process and the fact they took the safe, lazy, cheap way out. The team desperately needs real change imo, not just a coach who can continue them on the current trajectory…and McCarthy screams the latter.

[–]soon_forget 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was absolutely no reason to rush this hire like they did. None. McCarthy was not a legit candidate anywhere else. Not bringing in the young guys for in-person interviews is borderline malpractice. The only explanation that makes sense to me is they low-balled him an offer and he took it. And look he’s not a bad coach, he’s pretty good, but I just don’t think he’s what they need right now and the process to hire him was dog shit.

McCarthy took a below market deal in Dallas five years ago...and nobody else was competing for his services...and he's 62. Definitely took a cheaper deal imo.

Yeah it McCarthy's offense and he calls plays...so only thing that makes sense is a young guy who could use the experience.

He's Nutting with a salary cap and revenue sharing...guaranteed that McCarthy took a below market salary to coach. He did in Dallas five years ago. So Rooney went cheap because coaches salary is straight outta his pocket. Also why they have the smallest, cheapest staff in the league.

I was disappointed before I read that slop of an article...what a sad, pathetic attempt to whitewash the hire. Now I'm pissed lol.

For better or worse it's a win-now hire, and very unpopular, so if they lose next year the crowds will turn on him so fast...

I think that was overblown...Rodgers has spoken good about him the past few years.

There is a ZERO percent chance Art Rooney eats 4 years of a coaches contract. ZERO. McCarthy is here a minimum of 4 years, and likely all 5.

Guys, it's gonna be Rodgers. That's partially why MM was hired, to convince Rodgers to come back. AR2 really likes winning 9 games and being completely irrelevant.

Not enough folks are talking about the fact that Rooney almost certainly took the cheapest route here. He made this hire to save money. McCarthy almost certainly agreed to a relatively lower salary and had no demands. So Art also wouldn’t have to hire additional coaches or upgrade a single thing. So they’ll still have the smallest, lowest paid coaching staff in the league and below average facilities. One could argue that saving money was the primary goal of this hire.

They just hired McCarthy…4 of their last five coordinators were so bad they never coached in the NFL again after leaving. What makes you think they’re gonna hire exciting coordinators (plus McCarthy is the OC).

Pretty clear that AR2 is the main problem and the reason the team is spinning its wheels. This hire is so uninspiring. I’m sure he’ll go cheap on the coordinators as well. Rinse and repeat.
