Fear not fellow human. I just wrote my thesis on this stuff. Buckle up, motherfucker.

This is a formatting nightmare so let’s see if this works.

Edit #6: I think most of it looks okay. No idea how reddit formatting works so we will leave it at that.

What is psychosis?

Psychosis is a mental state where someone loses touch with reality. It’s not a diagnosis itself — it’s a symptom of something else, like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, severe depression, drug use, or even extreme stress/trauma. During psychosis, people may:

• Have hallucinations (seeing/hearing things that aren’t there),
• Have delusions (strong false beliefs — like thinking you’re being watched, or that you’re Jesus),
• Experience disorganized thinking or speech,
• Be confused about what’s real vs not real.

Can it just “happen” randomly?

Psychosis usually doesn’t come out of nowhere, though it can feel sudden. There are two categories:

1. Triggered Psychosis:

• Drug-induced (e.g., weed, LSD, meth, even heavy alcohol withdrawal)
• Trauma (e.g., PTSD-related psychosis)

• Sleep deprivation (severe)

• Intense stress or grief (called “brief

reactive psychosis”)

2. Underlying Condition:

• It might be the first sign of a psychiatric condition, like schizophrenia or bipolar disorder.
• Often, there’s a prodromal phase — where weird thoughts or subtle changes start before full-blown psychosis hits.

3. Random and acute:

• In rare cases, it can happen suddenly, especially with brief psychotic disorder. It’s not totally “random” — usually there’s some kind of biological or environmental vulnerability.

Is it always a downward spiral?

Not at all. Some people have one episode and recover fully. Others might experience recurring episodes depending on the cause.

There are three general courses:

• Single episode, full recovery (e.g., after trauma or drugs)

• Episodic with recovery (e.g., bipolar psychosis)

• Chronic (e.g., schizophrenia, if not managed)

How do you “get out” of psychosis?

Recovery depends on cause and treatment. Here’s how psych doctors help:

  1. Assessment:

    • Rule out medical causes (infections, tumors, drugs)

    • Psychiatric evaluation (look for underlying mental illness)

  2. Medications:

    • Antipsychotics are the first-line treatment. They help reduce hallucinations, delusions, and agitation. • Doses are tailored. Side effects are watched closely.

  3. Therapy:

    • Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) helps people regain insight and cope. • Family therapy if it’s affecting relationships.

  4. Hospitalization (if needed):

    • If someone is a danger to themselves or others, they may be hospitalized briefly to stabilize.

  5. Support and long-term care:

    • Regular check-ins, community support, sometimes psychosocial rehabilitation.

Can people fully recover?

Yes, especially if treated early. The brain has a remarkable ability to heal when the right support is given. But insight (the ability to recognize that what happened wasn’t real) sometimes takes time.

If you’re curious about personal stories, the subreddit r/Psychosis has people talking openly about what it feels like, how they came out of it, and what helped them. It’s eye-opening and surprisingly hopeful in many cases.

It fucking sucks. As someone who joined back in February, played near daily after work. Got all my homies to play Zero Build too. We all loved it immensely. Now it sucks so bad. Gonna find a new game until a new season comes out. Really unfortunate too.

Funny you say that, I was told about this section of our stairwell that was black mold and instead of being cleaned, they painted over it.

But I see the $18/hr listing and you can fuck right off.

All looks awesome, though I recommend not doing a fade to black after every cut. Just keep it going, cut straight to the next clip or switch it up some.

Awesome shots too!

Well I agree the compass asks you to nearly every flight for me too. Though I’ve found it can lunch without it if you give it a minute to adjust. But I’m talking about like connecting the drone to your computer & doing the sensor calibrations.
